iOS 6.1 On Track to be the Fastest Adopted iOS Yet

iOS 6.1 was officially released to the public only on Monday, after the fifth beta of iOS 6.1 was released only Sunday. Already, iOS 6.1 is making a huge impression on iOS device users. According to Onswipe, 22% of iOS device owners that were monitored by the firm have already upgraded in less than 36 hours. There is still a huge number of iOS users that have not been monitored.
According to the data that was collected by Onswipe, which can be broken down per device, the iPhone tops the iOS 6.1 adoption at 23.92%, followed by the iPad at 20.9%. The numbers don't seem to include the iPod touch, but after the two numbers are averaged together, the 22% figure can be realized.
iOS 6.1 doesn’t add that many new features to iOS, apart from redesigned iPod controls on the lock screen, the ability to purchase movie tickets through Siri using Fandango, a better Passbook home screen, some additional LTE support, and multiple security and stability improvements, so it's interesting to see what the rush is all about. The update was also found to fix a problem with the iPhone 5 not registering rapid swipes on the display.
Onswipe’s numbers are definitely not Apple’s; however, the raw numbers that they have put together for us show that iOS 6.1 could be on track to becoming the world’s quickest-adopted iOS ever. Apple will likely make an official statement with their next product release, as they usually do, or if not, launch a press release on their Web site.

Apple should be grateful for the evad3rs because its going to boost their sales numbers as a lot of people hold back getting the i5 without a working jailbreak

I can see Crapple bragging and taking credit for the fast adoption rate for this ios version due to their "bug fixes and OS improvements" but we all know its because the evaders gave us the green light to update to this latest FW version in preparation for the jailbreak

I think the reason for this had to do with the upcoming jailbreak =) I just don't see any other reason as to why. I mean sure they added a few things here and there but if ppl are upgrading to 6.1, it's because we were given the go ahead to upgrade by the jailbreak team.

I think its partly because of OTA, partly because of the security fixes in 6.1.
Nobody wants an insecure phone.
Since 6.1 arrived I feel so much better, just knowing that
my phone is finally safe and secure from malicious hackers and all their exploits.

Then there are people that like me went to IOS6.1 and found out that most of the apps you jailbreak for dont work so you downgrade back to 5.1.1
Hopefully after the 6.1 jailbreak is released those apps will be updated then there might be a reason to update again.
