'PowerActions' Makes Things Happen When You Plug in Your iOS Device

If you’ve ever wanted a jailbreak tweak that would make special events happen when you plug your iOS device into a power supply, then a new jailbreak tweak dubbed PowerActions by iOS developer iA1eX is for you.

The tweak is basically a list of options that you can pick and choose from, and the options that you enable will happen when you plug your iOS device into a power source. The list of options you can choose from is plentiful, some more useful than others. The options list is shown below:



From the list you can choose from:

• Showing an alert
• Showing a custom alert (you enter the title and content)
• Vibrating the device
• Showing the device's lock screen
• Toggling Airplane mode on or off (depending on its current state)
• Toggling Wi-Fi on or off (depending on its current state)
• Toggling Mute on or off (depending on its current state)
• Pausing or Playing music (depending on its current state)
• Skipping to the next music track
• Going back to the last music track

As you can see from our example, we’ve set a custom alert to appear when the device is plugged in. After plugging the device in, a pop-up alert appears on the screen and the title says “Power Connected,” while the message content says, “Refueling has Commenced!” You can also see from the preferences pane that the text shown in the alert matches the text we had typed into the text field in the preferences.

The alert feature may not be very useful, however it’s a nice little customization feature. Some of the other features may be a lot more useful for the user. Additionally, if you're feeling brave, you can even enable more than one of the features at once. Another great feature of the tweak is that it doesn't require a respring every time you make a change to the options.

For example, you can have the tweak automatically enable Airplane Mode for you when you charge your device at night so you can have a night of peace and quiet with no notifications, since Airplane Mode will be enabled when you dock the device. Another good use for the tweak is for the device to play music for you automatically when you plug it into one of those fancy music-playing docking stations. The list of uses goes on for those creative users out there.

I'm pretty sure you can do everything but the alert with stock Activator, and I don't know why you would ever want to enable the next track action.

Just use Activator. You can use the "menus" feature to perform two (or more) actions at one event.
