THX Releases Tune-up App for iOS
A new application has surfaced in the App Store Tuesday afternoon from THX. The application is called THX tune-upô and allows you to calibrate your television set, speakers, and other entertainment accessories to help you get the best quality entertainment experience that the hardware can offer.
The app by THX includes features for making sure your television picture quality is the best it can be, by taking your room lighting into consideration to help you pick the best aspect ratio, brightness, color, contrast, and tint.
The app can also help you adjust your speakers and ensure that they are connected correctly and working correctly, and can help you adjust the speaker assignment and speaker phase.
When you launch the application, youíll be asked to input some information about your entertainment equipment, such as the type of display, type of speakers, and how you plan to connect the application to your equipment. You can connect the application to the equipment using your Apple TV, HDMI, VGA, or Component.
The app also comes with some fun extras, like the THX Deep Note, which can be used to show off your nice-sounding speakers, a THX trailers option, an Ask Tex feature for sending your questions to THX, and a THX Moo Can that will sound like a cow mooing every time you rotate your device.
The app is free from the App Store from this link.

Who doesn't need a "Tune Up" every once in a while?

This looks like a good app to have if you have a full blown system. I am going to check out the Tv adjustments this weekend and see what happens, might not have to have the Telly calibrated yearly as the mfg suggests. Could save a few bucks. Any feedback from the tv techies I'm all ears.

They should probably have a not saying it will not work on the latest iPod Touch, considering Apple's latest genius move to remove the ambient sensor.
