Default Sprint Adding 28 More Cities to List of 4G LTE Supported Areas

Sprint is once again expanding their 4G LTE network in the United States, this time to 28 more cities. 4G LTE is an ultra-fast cellular data solution that can potentially offer up to 100Mb/s of downlink speed, however with network congestion from all the users, realistic speeds might only be between 20Mb/s and 60Mb/s. Sprint, on the other hand, has a reputation for having even slower downlink speeds than that, so take it as you will.

The 28 additional U.S. cities that Sprintís 4G LTE network is in the process of reaching are:

    • Albany, GA
    • Anderson, SC
    • Bay City, MI
    • Branson, MO
    • Bremerton/Silverdale, WA
    • Columbus, GA
    • Columbus, MS
    • Decatur, AL
    • Florence/Muscle Shoals, AL
    • Gadsden, AL
    • Gaffney, SC
    • Gettysburg, PA
    • Glasgow, KY
    • Homosassa Springs, FL
    • Hot Springs, AR
    • Lake City, FL
    • Lake Havasu City/Kingman, AZ
    • Midland, MI
    • Nacogdoches, TX
    • Opelousas/Eunice, LA
    • Oxford, MS
    • Paris, TX
    • Pittsfield, MA
    • Saginaw, MI
    • Spartanburg, SC
    • The Villages, FL
    • Waycross, GA
    • Winona, MN

Sprint notes that as they work on bringing their 4G LTE coverage to new locations, users of 4G LTE-capable devices may begin to connect to the network even before it is officially announced. Sprint welcomes all users early and allows them to use the network during pre-launch. Apple's iPhone 5, iPad with retina display, and iPad Mini are some of many Sprint devices that can connect to Sprint's 4G LTE cellular network.

Sprint is the last of the major iPhone carriers to offer unlimited data for customers at this point in time, however T-mobile is expected to start carrying the iPhone sometime this year with unlimited data as well.

Are you included in any of the 28 new cities to get Sprintís 4G LTE cellular service?

No Seattle, wa? Yet they have Bremerton, wa a smaller city? Lol. Either way I still think sprint's LTE is gonna be slow!

Still waiting in hawaii..getting tired of their slow 3G..

Really crazy that they include Branson, MO but not Kansas City or Overland Park where their world headquarters is. Besides that, you can't get a Sprint signal on Sprint WHQ campus. That's why all the execs us Verizon. Sad but true.

I was announced for that 100 city announcement; st Petersburg / Tampa fl. I've seen the LTE test towers working, it's bringing pretty solid speeds, they just need to turn it on everywhere. Me nor my brother get it at our homes, but my friends live in the test area. -__-

It's a test area up in New York City ... The speeds are not great but better than the terrible 3G speeds

Can someone explain why Sprint and frankly all carriers ignore Long Island? It's only 20 miles wide and has a very high population density. You could hit so many more customers in so much smaller an area than all these places.
