Now it does guarantee you a single shot musket as that's what was available when the second was written. After that anything is/should be up for regulation.
    Plus some of you make me laugh my butt off. "I need my gun in case the federal government becomes tyrannical" lol what morons!! What do you think any number of ar-15's with any number of rounds is going to do against an A1-A tank or predator drone shooting a missile from 20k feet? Lol stupid is as stupid does momma always said.
    Lol you are a poor uneducated fool. There is so much wrong with this post I don't even know where to begin. First of all if you don't like the reason why the 2nd amendment was made then why don't you please just stay away from our country? Why live somewhere that founded their country with the first 2 major laws of the country "right to freedom of religion/ free speech" & "Right to bear arms"

    Your lack of intelligence really shows by trying to belittle the fact that our founders gave us this right to protect us from the type of monarchy life that they left back in Britain. Do you live in America? If so you should consider moving to England instead of trying to turn our country into what our fathers came here to get away from.

    And to answer your question. Enough of us with the right guns can go in and take out a dictator if it needs to be done.

    Besides that Why would a tyrannical government or dictator shoot missiles at its own country? Do you know ANY history?? When has a this ever happened? That point is completely invalid and IDIOTIC. Even more so bc you tried to call someone else stupid.

    And even if there are tanks at least with guns we have the means to fight back. Without them we are hopeless when the next Hittler comes around.

    Also I would like you to show me where in the constitution it states that we are not allowed to own an automatic weapon? If they really wanted to be specific why would they word it the way they did? "Right to bear arms" is very vague and NOT BY ACCIDENT!

    Some Numbers from 2010 in the U.S.:
    358 deaths that involved a rifle
    6009 deaths from pistols
    10,228 people were killed in alcohol related car crashes

    In my state in 1988 a guy got drunk, crashed into a bus that killed 27 kids. To me the only difference is that he only served 11 years in jail.

    Just to demonstrate how absolutely stupid your post is, here is the same logic applied to something you DO care about.

    If the Left insists upon limiting the Second Amendment, then maybe it is time to reexamine the First Amendment, in light of their arguments for limiting the Second.

    Whereas: More people are threatened, bullied, or otherwise victimized by speech or other forms of expression utilizing mass communications;

    Whereas: Technical advances have placed the means of mass communications and publishing onto every desktop and mobile device in America;

    Whereas: Only manual writing or manually operated printing presses were available in 1791, when the Bill of Rights was adopted;

    Whereas: The Founding Fathers had no way of even conceiving of the concept of telephony, broadcasting, satellite communications, instant messaging, email, mass-media, home-computer publishing, or the Internet;

    Be it resolved:

    All persons engaging in publishing, or other mass communications by any means other than hand written public missives or by operated printing presses; or live, non-broadcast or recorded, stage performances shall be licensed;

    All equipment, except hand operated printing presses or writing materials, be declared 'Means of Mass Communication';

    No Means of Mass Communication may be produced, purchased, sold or otherwise transferred, owned, possessed, controlled, or used or operated by any person or other entity without issuance and possession of a valid Mass Communications Device Permit, after appropriate application, testing, and payment of applicable fees are made to Federal Authorities, for each such specific device;

    All Means of Mass Communication in violation of the above shall be turned in to the newly formed Bureau of Free Speech Enforcement;

    Every person and entity producing, purchasing, selling or otherwise transferring, owning, possessing, controlling, or using or operating such Means of Mass Communication shall either obtain a Mass Communications Permit, or turn in any and all Means of Mass Communication to Bureau of Free Speech Enforcement.

    Ok, if not cars, then what about alcohol? What purpose does it server other than to provide over 6 billion in tax revenue a year? Not to mention that the option to increase alcohol tax has been on the table since Obama's re-election in November that would increase revenue to 182 billion over then next 10 years. The health cost alone for alcohol is 223 billion annually. Not to mention alcohol related deaths account for 4% of worldwide deaths which is greater than TB, Aids, and Violent crimes.

    A simple check of the CDC database WISQARS Fatal Injury Reports show violent crimes committed with guns including murders, aggravated assaults and robberies have declined for the past three straight years. However, current control advocates such as the brady campaign are using numbers from 2008.

    As for the first question

    "But give me a good reason why any person needs a semi automatic assault style weapon with a 100 round magazine?"

    Isn't the answer obvious? I am a law abiding citizen of the United State of America. My only record is that of a couple of speeding tickets in my younger years. I suffer from no mental illness or addiction that could impair my judgment in the use of firearms. I am a hunter and sports enthusiasts and besides firearms I enjoy shooting a bow.

    OK, I have to go back to the car issue...lets put it this way. Yes cars are necessary for travel and commuting to work, but why do I need a vehicle that can travel faster than the legally posted speed limit? Or why does a car enthusiast need a 6.2-liter V-8 that will pump out 450 horsepower at 6,000 RPM and 450 pound-feet of torque at 4,000 RPM for a sub-four-second 0-60 mph time? What purpose does it serve? Why does someone need to get to 60mph that fast?

    Lets go back to mental health. Following the 2007 VT shootings, Kaine signed a bill that improved mental health access and alloted several million dollars for mental health care. A 2009 study showed that in a short time since the bills passing, mental health care improved in the state dramatically. However, in 2010, the same govenor passed budget cuts that reversed the improved funding and even set three state mental health facilities for closure. Most notably, the Commonwealth Center for Children and Adolescents which housed children and adolescents who had shown suicidal, aggressive, or homicidal tendencies.

    As for the 2nd amendment doesn't cover modern firearms, did you even read what you wrote? Your own argument nullifies your entire point. the text reads "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed." You are correct in that it does not state to keep or bear an ar15, but neither does it state to keep and bear a musket....it says "to keep and bear Arms" meaning the right of all individuals to possess a weapon in the form of a firearm. Now last time I checked, both a musket and an ar15 are firearms.
