Default New Years Day Glitch Causing Do Not Disturb Sessions to Continue Past Schedule

iOS 6 brought with it a new feature called Do Not Disturb that allows you to keep all notifications from notifying you as long as the feature is enabled. You can enable the feature manually whenever you don’t feel like being disturbed, or you can set scheduled sessions, such as when you’re in bed and don’t want to be woken up.

For anyone that has set up the scheduled Do Not Disturb feature, you may notice that the feature isn’t behaving correctly this New Years holiday. The scheduled Do Not Disturb feature is continuing far beyond the "To" time that users have set in the Do Not Disturb preferences pane.

Anyone who may not have noticed that Do Not Disturb was still on beyond the "To" time would have continued through their day thinking that they have received no notifications today, only to find when they press the power button to wake up the device that their lock screen has many notifications stacked above one another.

Last year, New Years day had spelled trouble for users trying to take advantage of the alarm feature built into iOS. The alarm would have failed to sound at the time that the user set and this would have caused users to wake up much later than originally expected, making them late for work and other planned events.

The problem with Do Not Disturb is definitely annoying and leaving many scratching their heads as to why Apple can’t seem to get their clocks to work right every new year.

Weird, no problems with my iPhone 5. I use DND every night. Went off at the normal time.

    Apple cant get anything right.
How about they open it up so it can be jailbroken and let the real devs do their magic and fix all the bugs.

Time related issue? DND is an iOS 6 feature only (so there is no way it happened for a "3rd year in a row"). You have to set you phone to a scheduled time where your notifications are limited based on your settings and it's not enabled by default. Your alarm clock is not affected by this. Seriously I'm not sure why you are on here though... What do you get from a site with Apple related news if you dislike them. It's not like android hasn't had its share of issues some where a hyperlink can wipe your phone, then the one where certain Samsung phones had a security hole where you can read the entire memory content. Grow up a bit, be happy with what you have for whatever reason you have it for. No need to bash people for their personal preferences.

It's not only Apple that has issues with time/dates. I know MS has one or more device that has issues with Leap Year every time.

Wow you got all that from a single comment.

I don't think he meant that he had the exact problem 3 years in a row. I believe he was just referring to the fact that he has had some kind of time issue for the last 3 new years.

Cut back on the caffein a little bro. It's all good.

Notice the question mark on the first thing I said... I was really asking. I didn't get "all that from a single comment." I am quite familiar with all his comments. You're welcome to look them up.
