AT&T Turns On 4G LTE in Ten More Markets Following Verizon's Slap in the Face Yesterday
Just yesterday, Verizon gave AT&T a run for their money and turned on their 4G LTE network in 29 more U.S. cities. AT&T also enabled their 4G LTE network in 5 new U.S. cities just this Tuesday while expanding others. With Verizon enabling their 4G LTE network at nearly six-fold the rate of AT&T, AT&T has quickly joined the race and turned on their 4G LTE in another 10 U.S. cities today. This is why competition is good!
The following U.S. cities will now be able to connect to AT&T’s 4G LTE network starting today:
- Boise, Idaho
- Boulder, Colorado
- Bowling Green, Kentucky
- Harrisburg, Pennsylvania
- Hartford, Connecticut
- Lancaster, Pennsylvania
- Lexington, Kentucky
- New Haven, Connecticut
- Ogden, Utah
- Providence, Rhode Island
Apple’s latest iPad, iPad Mini, and iPhone 5 can all take advantage of AT&T’s blazing fast 4G LTE network, which although is expected to offer a theoretical download speed of 100Mb/s, users only report around 20-60Mb/s due to the realism of network congestion.
AT&T users also get the benefit of being able to drop down to 4G HSPA+ when 4G LTE is not in range, offering a theoretical download speed of 14.4Mb/s rather than 3G’s theoretical download speed of 7.2Mb/s. The additional speed boost is nice, but for the most part the speeds between the two are marginal in real-life tests because of network congestion and other situations.
Has AT&T's 4G LTE hit your area yet?

I'm in reading pa. Had LTE for about 3 weeks now. The speed difference is definitely noticeable over 4g
