iOS 6.0.2 Released for iPhone 5, iPad Mini

Apple has just launched iOS 6.0.2 for the iPhone 5 and iPad Mini. Interestingly, the update is not out for all iOS devices. It is not known if it will come out shortly, or if the update is only going to be for these two devices.

According to the changelog, the update simply fixes an issue with Wi-Fi on these devices. It’s also probably likely that the update fixes security holes that could be used as exploits for a jailbreak, so it’s recommended you hold off unless you’ve been experiencing Wi-Fi issues.
OTA (over the air) updating is not showing the update just yet, as we are only able to find it in iTunes. The update should be live on OTA updating shortly.
Just yesterday, Apple also released iOS 6.1 beta 4 to developers for beta testing, signaling that iOS 6.1 is nearing release. iOS 6.0.2 is now the latest public firmware.
Edit: The update is now available via OTA.Last edited by Anthony Bouchard; 12-18-2012 at 12:53 PM.

Maybe. Time will tell. One thing's for sure, they're patching security holes.
So the question is going to be - do I upgrade and maybe(?) help my WiFi issues, or wait in the desperate hope there may
one day be a jailbreak released for 6.0 or 6.0.1. I'm not offering advice here, just an opinion. Shutting the signing windows
for 6.0 and 6.0.1 prevents users from downgrading, but it also prevents jailbreak developers from downgrading. IMHO, the
odds of developing a working jailbreak on an OS you can't restore to in the event of an error is basically zero.

Really love the wifi fix but think I can live without it. If it means a jailbreak.

I believe what's taking so long is 6.0.1 being the jailbreak. They didn't give a crap about 6.0 the bugs on It suck. Why jailbreak a crappy firmware. I'd say they waiting for 6.0.1 or 2

Would it be possible that if a jailbreak was released for 6.0/6.0.1 that a package could be deployed that would fix the wifi bug?

Have you folks seen the security Apple put into iOS 6? Even if there are holes, you can no longer exploit them. I may be wrong too, but I don't think we're going to see a jailbreak for 6.0, 6.0.1, 6.0.2 or 6.1. It's a sad state of affairs, but Apple's 1984 commercial has come full circle.
If you're holding your breath for a jailbreak, you're going to die of asphyxiation.
