Version 2.0 of iOS Gmail App Brings New UI and More Features

Those of you that use Gmail can now download version 2.0 of the iOS application today. Gmail for iOS has been redesigned with a new look and now has some new features that will be appreciated across the board by many.
From the new interface, you can see the obvious Google footprint in the colors and graphics used. Everything loads much faster with this interface, as it was created with speed and efficiency in mind. From the sidebar, you can quickly and easily navigate through the application to get where you need to be.

Another thing that may be noticed by new users is that the Gmail application now has a nice welcome screen that gives the user a small tour and demonstration of the features in the application. This will show up when you are not yet signed in after you've downloaded the application:

Gmail 2.0 now also supports multiple accounts at once, has an improved search function that tries to predict what you want as you type, offers an infinite scrolling inbox, and includes features to interact with Google Calendar and Google+.
Existing users will find the update from the Updates tab in the App Store. New users can grab the update from this link. What do you think about the new interface and features?

Unfortunately there is Still no way to turn off conversation view (unless I am missing something).
Back to the built-in mail app.

This is a much needed and welcomed update. Finally they've gotten rid of WebView, added multiple account support (although not a single inbox, which I'm not against, really, but the option is nice) and taken a note from Sparrow on UI.
It's already on my iPhone 5 and Ill be taking Sparrow off after a few days of testing. Curious to see how it looks on the iPad!

Almost looks like another email client I use (read: Sparrow).

The UI looks great but the biggest problem I still have on the iPhone 4S is when you actually open an email and have to pinch to zoom or rotate the phone to view because it's too small to see.
Probably because they don't utilize the whole screen like the stock mail app does.
