CallBar Updated With iOS 6 Support and New Features

One of the most favorited and widely used jailbreak tweaks in Cydia is CallBar by Elias Limneos and Joshua Tucker. The tweak makes incoming and outgoing calls in iOS more intuitive. Today, an updated version of CallBar is out in Cydia and it adds not only new features, but it also brings support for iOS 6, meaning the tweak now has support stretching from iOS 4, all the way to Apple's newest mobile operating system.
The update also now integrates right in with iOS 6’s new message reply feature, which allows you to select a pre-determined text message to send to a caller that you decline the call of. Oh and there’s more – the tweak ports these options to iOS 5 users as well so that they too can enjoy the luxury of the message reply feature that Apple has brought to iOS 6. You can access these options by tapping on the icon on the left of the CallBar banner. Users will be able to use default message replies, or set their own message replies from the Settings.
Users can also use CallBar for outgoing calls (shown above) by using Activator, Siri, or Bluetooth headsets. Once you open CallBar for an outgoing call, you can open up the keypad to manually dial a number, or you can browse through your recent callers, contacts, favorites, and more. You can initiate and receive both phone calls and FaceTime calls from CallBar, although Skype and Viber are no longer supported.
CallBar now allows users to tap the banner to answer a call, as well as swiping right on the banner. Swiping left on the banner will decline the call. The minimized view of CallBar has been improved and the show/hide animations have also received a facelift. More aesthetic improvements will be discovered upon downloading and trying the new version of CallBar.

From the Settings, you’ll find that the pane has been simplified with fewer switches. Much of this is due to the removed Skype and Viber controls. You can still enable and disable the tweak on demand, and you can enable it and disable it individually for Phone and FaceTime. You can then Enable or disable CallBar’s Outgoing call feature.
Below this, you’ll find the options to set your message reply, enable or disable the ability to answer in place, choose what happens when you press the sleep/wake button, and the ability to change the color theme of CallBar:

At the very end of the preferences pane, you’ll find a place to set an Activator action for outgoing calls with CallBar and a F.A.Q. with guide.
Apart from new features, the CallBar update fixes numerous bugs such as:- Issue where custom ringtones wouldn’t work when CallBar was disabled
- Issue causing CallBar to appear semi-transparent
- Issue with crashing on iOS 5.0.1
- Blocked taps below the banner are no longer blocked
- Issue causing mute and speaker button not to work
- Issue causing Keyboard to not show up in some cases
- Issue causing lock screen to not undim
- Issue causing proximity sensor not to dim the screen in calls
- Much more
The CallBar update is live in Cydia right now. Current users can update for free and new users can grab CallBar from the BigBoss repository for $3.99. A lot of love has gone into this update and users should see big improvements in performance and stability. In case you were unaware, there is a CallBar SBSettings toggle available for free in Cydia as well.

Ahhhhhh yeah! Been rockin Call Bar since day one and loving it... Ive been waiting for a long time for some of the bug fixes... The only issues I had were the proximity sensor acting funny and the screen not un dimming for 30 seconds after ending calls... Despite the bugs it still has been one of my favorite mods to the actual Phone part of the OS... Super stoked with the new update and the new features... Got a call while at a movie yesterday and was able to send a "I'm busy, I'll call you back." type of text message while the phone call was still incoming... Thanks boys for the update!

Aaaahh I've waited ages for an update and they still haven't fixed it. Does noone else have a problem with the app still obstructing part of the top of the screen when in a call? Seriously try navigating iFile while in a CallBar call. Its frustrating!!
Why not implement the screen push down function to make space for the callbar rather than having it simply in front of parts of the screen?

I believe you just Swipe Up to minimize CallBar. I asked Josh Tucker about this problem and I think he said swiping up on the bar will minimize it for us.
I'm on an ip5 now or else I'd verify it for you.
***Confirmed! I just asked Tucker again. Swipe up to minimize when ur on a callLast edited by thazsar; 11-18-2012 at 12:54 AM.

He is correct. When in a call, simply swipe on the banner and it will go into a minimized mode, allowing you to navigate anywhere you need to go.
The reason why there's no need for a lock screen option is because we integrated the native iOS 6 lock screen interface and our dismiss feature together. As a result, there's no longer a banner on the lock screen, which means people can keep CallBar enabled.Last edited by Joshua Tucker; 11-20-2012 at 08:19 AM.

honestly you should add a feature to enable or disable the lock screen feature, when i updated and used callbar on the lockscreen it was all blank, probably cus i hide everything on the lockscreen and i much rather use the banner than the "iOS 6 features", other than that looks like i will stay on 1.4-1 :foreveralone:

I have a theme and when a call comes in on the lock screen, it shows who's calling but it on top of the clock of my theme. So I have the person who's calling name on top of the time, and I'm still on iOS 5.1.1 4S
.

Is this still transparent/translucent on anyone else's phone on IOS 6? It has been on mine since install and it's hard to read it. I uninstalled, reinstalled it with no luck. Thanks!

The problem could be either:
1) You're not on the most updated version
2) You're using a pirated version, which in that case, I'd recommend purchasing it
.
If it's neither one of these, please send us a support email.
We removed them due to adding tap to answer. The buttons can't be well integrated into the banner and they are not native to the banner themselves.
Can you elaborate on what exactly was "blank"?Last edited by Joshua Tucker; 11-28-2012 at 12:45 PM.

It's not pirated, i bought it a while ago, so it must not be the most updated version which wouldn't make sense to me but I'll double check in Cydia later.
