Add Groupon Functionality to Siri With 'siriSearchGroupon'
If you’re a Groupon fan and you have Siri capability, then you might want to check out this new free Siri add-on dubbed siriSearchGroupon by iOS developer Nick Mack.
After you have downloaded siriSearchGroupon, the first thing you should do is go into the AssistantExtensions preferences pane in your settings application and enable the addon. If it’s enabled already, disable it and enable it again (for good measure), as the developer says the add-on may not work unless you do this.
After you’ve enabled the add-on, you can invoke Siri and simply say “Groupon” and Siri will come up asking you for your location. Simply input your location and you can start using your Groupon Siri add-on. Your location is necessary for Groupon to find local deals for you. If you ever end up in a different location, you can say “Groupon Location” to Siri and you will be able to input a new location to overwrite the old location:
From now on when you invoke Siri and say “Groupon,” Siri will show you the latest deals in your area just like in the first screenshot example. Since siriSearchGroupon is an AssistantExtensions add-on, AssistantExtentions will be installed with it if you don’t already have it installed. SiriSearchGroupon will work with any iPhone 4S or any older iOS device running Spire. The add-on only works with iOS 5 at this point in time and the add-on has no options to configure.
