Apple Reportedly Testing iOS 6.0.1; iOS 6.1 With Bug Fixes

Apple has only recently released the iPhone 5, iPod touch 5G, and their new iOS 6 mobile operating system, but a report by BGR reveals that Apple is already in the works of testing iOS 6.0.1, which will bring many bug fixes to iOS 6 and the iPhone 5. Some of the bugs are more common than others.

According to the report, the iOS 6.0.1 update is expected to bring the below fixes and tweaks:

• Fix issue with flickering lines appearing on the keyboard on iPhone 5 units
• Fix issue with camera flash not going off when taking photographs
• Fix issue with Passbook information being easily accessible through the lock screen
• Fix issue with cellular data
• Fix issue with exchange meetings being unintentionally cancelled
• Improved Wi-Fi support
• Addition of a consolidated iTunes Match cellular data switch

It’s not exactly known when iOS 6.0.1 will be released to the public, although it’s expected to be released within a few weeks. Currently, the developer portal of Apple's Web site is not offering a seed of iOS 6.0.1 for developers to test. The report also shares that iOS 6.1 is being worked on, however no details about iOS 6.1 have been leaked, so it's not known if it will include additional fixes and improvements or if it will add in new features for iOS 6 users.

When released, users will be able to install the update through iTunes or through the built-in OTA (over the air) updating service on the iOS device. We will let everyone know when the update is available for the public to download and install.

You couldn't be more wrong. Remember how long it took the 4S and iPad 2 to be jailbroken? No bootrom exploit = very difficult jailbreaks.

just waiting on a jailbreak to update... jailbreak is waiting on final version of ios6 to be released. no point in dev's releasing a jailbreak if an update is just around the corner...

Even with a jailbreak there is no compelling reason to update, IOS 6 is the first version of an Apple OS that I've considered in the "give it a miss" category.

yea trust me i'm not one to rush a jailbreak. i could wait another 6 months for one... give them time to sort out all the bugs. also give time for the update to come out. the last thing we need is apple patching a jailbreak withinin 2 weeks, just to wait for another one for another year...

There is obviously going to be updates around the corner since if I remember reading correctly the only way that apple canard dress the problems their maps app has and update it is with a full blown software update...

I'm not missing the jailbreak as much as I thought I would .. Just a few things would be nice ..status bar icons for texts, emails etc, a more robust texting app( the apple one is beyond a joke at this point) and control over ur GPS location.

there is no jb because pod2g and the rest of the "Dream team" crew are no where near an untethered jb. These days anyone who finds an exploit likes to post it on twitter and every othe possible soruce. Based on everything I've see so far including how long it took to jb 4s. I would see if there is a jb it wont be around until 6.1 and sometime in jan/feb the EARLIEST.

stop being an asshat! I for one am glad to see this news posted. These are issues ive been having with my iphone 5 since I first got it. I knew they were all software issues, but I am glad to know apple is actually fixing them.

There is no visible exploit yet, with past experience they wait however they tell us if there is a jailbreak.

I agree. There has to be a reason why its delayed. This looks like a good enough reason.
