Rovio Announces Angry Birds Star Wars

Not too long ago, Rovio worked with NASA to bring us Angry Birds Space, which was a bit of a twist for the game being that the physics were completely different. Rovio also just launched their Bad Piggies game, which puts the gamer in the pigs’ shoes instead of the birds’ shoes for once. Now, Rovio is announcing Angry Birds Star Wars edition, which will go live in the App Store on November 8th. Above is the official teaser video from Rovio’s YouTube channel, which was posted today.

We know what you’re all thinking: "Ugh, another Angry Birds game; come on Rovio!" Okay, maybe you’re right. And we won’t blame you for not wanting to try this game out. Die-hard Star Wars fans on the other hand...

It’s not yet known how the game play will be, whether it will follow the storyline of Star Wars or if the levels will simply look like scenes from Star Wars. We also don't know yet if the game will adopt the anti-gravity physics that were introduced in Angry Birds Space. It’s gathered from the trailer that the birds may be disguised like Star Wars characters, playing the Rebellion, and the pigs may also be disguised as Star Wars characters, playing the Empire.

Like all of Rovio’s games, it will be released for the iOS platform, Android, Mac OS X, and Windows. Pricing is not yet set in stone. Rovio will be updating their Tumblr blog with information regarding their new game in due time. Will you be grabbing this?

You can open the link from Mobile Safari on your iOS device. The ModMyi application is currently being worked on and an update will be out in the future.

Oh my Lord Vader 😱! Being a total closet nerd who has loved Star Wars my whole life, this is sweet! I haven't even seen the trailer yet and don't care how it's gonna be laid out, but I'm sold! Star Wars + Angry Birds= $.99 from my bank account and my inner kid coming out to play it like crazy!

This will probably, definitely, get me to play Angry Birds again. Passed on "Space", slept on "Piggies" but this will get me to drop the $0.99 for sure.

Lol teaming with Star Wars was a sure-fire way to get buyers on board! What Star Wars fan wouldn't want to download this?

its not that hard to make 2 links for each Article that has a youtube comment, make an iphone youtube and make a separate computer youtube link
the iPhone link pulls up as "youtube;lyB6G4Cz9fI"
the iPhone link one is missing "http://www.youtube.com/watch?v="
the iPhone link should be "http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lyB6G4Cz9fI"

part of the issue is that it is trying to find the youtube app on the iphone to jump to then open the link, the issue is that it jumps over to safari but it doesnt then jump to the youtube app it just stays there

I agree, it's a pain to switch over to mobile safari just to see the video. This should have been fixed a long time ago.

It should work like this: have the embedded video, then put "iPhone link" underneath (until the app is actually updated).
