    Lets be happy Apple is even making an adaptor..they didn't have to do so. Question is how much is it and what is the cost in reference to the cable the comes with the iPhone 5??

    It doesn't make sense that the 30 pin adapter to Lightning plug costs more than a new lightning cable.
    And then if you have old apple 30 pin cables, you would be using this with the old cable.
    Can't use this with a battery case, like Mophie or Exogear either! Bah, humbug!

    The lightning cable doesn't have the D/A converter circuitry that the adapter has.
