View More Information About Your Photos With 'Photo Info'

iOS has a gorgeous method for showing us our photographs – just double-tap to enlarge and swipe right or left to scroll through each one. While it looks great, it does fail to give us information about our photographs. This is exactly what a new free jailbreak tweak called Photo Info by iOS developer Yandong Wang tries to fix.
After installing Photo Info, you will begin seeing a brand new button in the Camera Roll interface. The button is a circular "i" button, which symbolizes 'information.' Tapping on this button brings up a Photo Info interface that shows you all kinds of details about the photograph you’re looking at. You can tap on the Done button to return to the photograph when you have finished viewing the information about the photograph. The interface is shown above on the right side.
The Photo Info interface will show you information such as:- File name
- File directory
- Current image resolution
- Original image resolution
- File size
- Date created
- Date modified
Since the image used above is a screenshot and not a photograph, this is the only information shown. If you were to take a photograph with the Camera, the tweak will show you additional information such as:- Camera make
- Camera model
- Resolution
- Software
- Focal length
- Aperture
- Exposure time
- Shutter speed
- White balance
- If flash was on
- Location information
- Much more
Photo Info is integrated so well into the Camera Roll that everything looks native and it has no options to configure. If you take a lot of photographs using your iOS device and you’re into photography, we recommend this tweak because it reveals a lot of useful information that wouldn’t be discoverable until you import the photographs to a computer and use third party software.

Omg I have wanted this for so freaking long. I can't tell you how many times I've looked through old photos on an iPhone or have been showing photos and someone has asked "when did you take that" and my response is ahh well..it was after I took these other photos and I think that was on a thursday. Blah blah. I'm so glad someone released this tweak.

If only you can edit the rename of the Photo, instead of finding it in ifile.. I'd gladly pay for this tweak if that was possible.

Greatest of all options, is that it shows you the location in Maps app. This was really missing in iOS. Love it.

Does not seem to work on iPad, hope this will be fixed soon. It's great on iphone.
Edit:I had a quick reply from the developer:
Quote:
My iPad has been broken for days. And the new one will arrive this weekend.
I'm going to add iPad support in next release.
Thanks for using the little tweak.
End of quote.

I get it, it isn't on the stock IOS because it isn't perfect yet. Apple is just waiting to release it when all the kinks are sorted out.

that this is a standard feature on Android. but If you have a stale and boring OS this might be something to get excited over.
It is a standard feature--on Android.
there are a lot of features in both iOS and Android that dont appeal to basic users--the difference is with Android is that its there for those who do want it, iOS does not offer any choices. here is a list of other standard features found on Android phones--and these ARE useful and appeal to basic users.
