history repeats itself.
Let's take a step back in history last year. When iPhone 4s was released, we saw twitter pics of it being jailbroken already on iOS5. Everyone was excited, but it didn't get released until near 3 months later. The reason was because the way it was done was through Developer account or something like that. We get teased by the various jb developers tweeting. Then, they setup paypal accounts for donations and boom magically it's finally released.
I think they wait until everyone is impatient and donations increase and then magically it gets released.
If this gets released before the end of the year, I will eat crow.

Me, I think they also wait to make sure Apple upgrades/updates (as they always do) may patch what they are working on. A cat and mouse game. We all know it can't come out fast enough, but playing the waiting game is part of the deal. Trust me when I say it will be released as soon as it is compatible and proven. Devs (including saurik who is part of the dev-team) are losing big bucks without us being able to jailbreak and that beautiful Cydia icon on our lockscreen.

Months?
I jailbroke my iPhone 4 IOS6 yesterday.
OK, it was tethered but it was still jailbroken. And Cydia was missing.
I installed a few cydia apps but as they wern't IOS6 ready I went back to IOS5.1.1
I thought as soon as Cydia was IOS6 ready then the jailbreak would be released?

I know. Me too! Hope to God whatever exploit that was found is not discovered by Apple before my iPhone is put together and loaded with an iOS and shipped to me. I would die if my pre-ordered iPhone 5 shows up with iOS 6.0.1 on it with the vulnerability patched so no jailbreak!

The Verizon iPhone 5 is already unlocked straight out of the box for people that don't know yet. Pop a nano sim in for tmobile(altered)or AT&T sim in and your good to go.

My iphone 5 wait is 3-4 weeks... By the time I get it, I won't be waiting much longer for JB. Suits me fine. My primary use for it is FaceTime over 3G, Aloud, and sbprofiles. I can live without those for a while... And might not have to with official FT over 3G support.
