iFixit Teardown of Apple EarPods Reveals Water Resistant and Durable Design

Apple’s next generation EarPods have replaced the classic iPod ear buds that we have gotten with our iPhones and iPods alike for so many years. The new design looks much more modern; even somewhat strange. The good news is, reviews on Apple's Web site (averaging 5 out of 5 stars) agree that the new EarPods have improved sound quality over the last ear buds. These EarPods will ship with every new iPhone 5 and iPod touch 5G and can be obtained from Apple's Web site for a price of $29.00.
iFixit has just performed a tear down of Apple’s new EarPods today and the results are great. It appears that the design is much more water-resistant than the earlier model of ear buds from Apple. This is due to the body of the units being much more closed and less exposed to the open – iFixit states that the remote is "better sealed" against water as well because the newer EarPods do not carry an open grille microphone on the remote control:

The tear down also reveals a paper cone, rather than the older plastic cone. The paper cone is responsible for delivering those lower frequency bass tones that Apple touts on their Web site with the new EarPods. iFixit expects the paper cone to be less tear-prone than the plastic cones in the previous generation ear buds, which means the EarPods are less likely to blow out on you.
It’s safe to say that Apple spent a lot of time trying to get the EarPod design just right. Not only is the design more durable, but it performs better too. If you don’t have a pair of EarPods yet, you should certainly try these things out.

They'll still sound shite, but at the price of Klipsch or Sennheiser.

i know how to work with it
im asking how does it actually do what it does
like how can it track ur iphone
i heard that it cant track you if your idevice is turned off
what if you hard restore the device and set it up as a new device, can it still track the device that u restored?

Excited about the new buds. Btw the findmyiphone feature is all software based. Turning your phone off or restoring the phone will render it useless. I wish that wasn't the case but it is

why are they still white? Apple did away with white in everything except their earphones and cables. They look so out of place next to the gizmos.
