Apple and AT&T Websites Go Offline in Preparation for iPhone 5 Pre-Orders

If you are one of the many who are waiting to pre-order your iPhone 5, get ready! Both Apple’s Online Store and AT&T’s website have gone offline in preparation for the iPhone 5 preorders in the next few hours.

As mentioned before, iPhone 5 pre-orders begin at 12:01 AM Pacific and 3:01 AM Eastern on September 14th. Those of you in the United States will have the option of picking between three official iPhone 5 carriers: AT&T, Sprint, and Verizon.

The prices have been reported as well following the same scheme as before with the unlocked versions costing the following prices: $649 (16GB), $749 (32GB), and $849 (64GB). Those of you who wanted to purchase an unlocked iPhone 5 off the bat are stuck for a while as it was announced that the unlocked phones won’t be available until “several weeks after the launch.”

Customers will also be given the option to buy directly from retail stores starting on September 21st. Those of you who pre-order will get the iPhone 5 delivered on September 21st.

Way excited, but also kinda scared. Been getting mixed answers as to rather or not Apple will ship to an address other than whats on your AT&T account. So just going to stay up and keep my fingers crossed that they will.... If not ill be at Walmart at 8 a.m. to pre-order through them. one way or another I WILL have my iPhone 5 next Friday

does anyone know if att will allow you to add a new line of service(wireless) to an existing account with only wireless internet with no deposit??

You can add a line without a deposit if your credit allows. Now as far as a wireless only are you talking about a data only like an iPad data. I am not all the way sure but I think that you can now have shared data and add a data plan only for ten bucks a month. Shared data is the kicker though. Then I am not sure a data only sim would work unless the iPhone is jailbroken. Again I am not sure about all this though

Sad for Many Of Us, on contract, we have to wait till the day att tell to wait. mine is may 8 next year. hope i can get at 200 dls but this time have to wait. I dont want to spend 550dls.

Tried to post inside before and it errors... Or something. Lol. When I got my iPhone 4 there wasn't even an option to have it shipped to an address that wasn't my billing address. I'm wondering I I should make my office my billing address for the next 2 hours, lol.

The Apple site came up for me rather quickly but like always the shipping address couldn't be altered so it has to arrive to my flat. Now I get to spend the next week obsessing over whether or not FedEx will ring me when they arrive or if I'll be able to pick it up if they don't or if they'll leave my flat number off the package! lol
