Default Kickstarter Projects You Should Consider Kickstarting [8-28-2012]
    CruxSKUNK™ - Powerful iPad® Laptop

    Amount Pledged: $79,809
    Fundraising Goal: $90,000
    Days To Go: 36

After two years of producing keyboard cases for the iPad Crux is raising funds to produce their Mona Lisa. The CruxSKUNK, despite the terrible, terrible name, looks like it delivers. With 8 patents pending the device literally looks like Apple made it. The entire case with the iPad strapped in is only 19mm thick and appears to be a nearly seamless extension. The case features a full-sized QWERTY keyboard, no cramped crappy rubber cased keyboards here. All of this comes at a premium though. The minimum pledge needed to secure a CruxSKUNK and a leather sleeve is $155 + $10 shipping.

MARTIAN – Voice Command Watches for iPhone & Android

    Amount Pledged: 92,879
    Fundraising Goal: $200,000
    Days To Go: 32

Martian watches aren’t your usual iOS or Android watch. The watches bleed a traditional style with the iOS and Android integration remaining nearly invisible, but not inaudible. The watches in question allow users to speak and listen to Siri all from your wrist by connecting to your iPhone. The premise is definitely elicits visions of a secret agent lifestyle talking MI6 when you’re really trying to get Siri to find a nearby Cafe. Interested parties can pledge $95 (retail will be at least double) to secure a watch of their choice via the early bird special.

    CameraMator: Wireless Tethered Photography

    Amount Pledged: $71,456
    Fundraising Goal: $80,000
    Days To Go: 8

The CameraMator: Wireless Tethered Photography is a photographer’s iPad dream. The CameraMotor allows full control of the camera, HDR Bracketing, acts as an Intervalometer (time-lapse!), has a self timer, allows photo-sharing and perhaps the best feature: Instant Image Review. The device instantly beams photos to a tethered iPad for review on set. User’s can then choose to save the photos directly to the iPad. And all of this happens with no wires.

Ummm, the CruxSKUNK™ - Powerful iPad® Laptop looks just like the keyboard I have for my iPad. Its a hard case with bluetooth keyboard and thats exactly how it looks like so WHY would anyone want to pay someone else to make something that is already available?

And the watches, there are already bluetooth watches so they also are already out. And they look better than these ones.

I guess the companys just want some free money for devices that already exist but they will change the logo and release it with their name.

And the camera, if you have the right camera all you do is download the app and thats what you can already do.

Do a google and you will find the already released devices.

I'm guessing this list is 2 years old as these are all old news.

Unless there's a piece of metal under the keyboard, it looks like the CruxSKUNK could tip over...

I like the iPad keyboard, but when the next iPad comes out then it will be useless probably.

Those watches are just hideous tbh

The whole thing is made out of aluminum like most Apple products. Check out the video, it's actually pretty cool. It looks better than the other iPad keyboards I've seen before.

shrug. if i wanted a laptop i'd buy an actual laptop for the same price as the ipad + their case. and as others pointed out, there are plenty of other similar cases already out there. i thought kickstart was for ideas on new products, not re-inventing the wheel.

What other keyboard case holds the iPad that well, is that thin, and allows you to rotate the iPad flat against the back of the keyboard? The name really stinks though.. pun intended.

Lol @nakedfaerie. Those are all brand new products that haven't even been manufactured yet. Some items might be similar to others but there are tons of new and inventive products on the site. Have you seen planetary annihilation?? The Spike Real Keyboard for IPhone? Equiso smart tv or even the Trygger camera case?

These developers put a lot of hard work and dedication into these projects so how about you head on over there and take a look before you criticize.

They aren't even re-inventing... they are just making it with different spokes...

I actually find a mouse much more useful when I'm using remote desktop and thanks to jailbreaking, I can have that.

The watch does seem like a good idea.

You could probably pick some up that look just like them at a flea market for 99 cents. Of course you'll still have to take your phone out of your pocket to use Siri.

The Pebble watch looks 1000 times better. I actually put money down on that one. This one does less stuff and looks horrible.

It sprays some sort of stinking liquid on you. That way no one will try to eat it.
