Default Enable the Old Television Locking Animation With 'TVLocker Pro'

If you like animations, you will probably like this new jailbreak tweak called TVLocker Pro by iOS developer Bensge. The tweak enables the old television-style locking animation that appears when you lock your iOS device with the sleep button and lets you change it around. The animated .gif image above shows what the animation looks like.

There are other tweaks that can enable the old television-style locking animation, such as Springtomize 2. The major difference is that TVLocker Pro offers the user options for customizing the animation, where alternative jailbreak tweaks do not. All options for configuring the animation are set from the Settings application under the TVLocker Pro preferences pane, which is shown in the screenshot below:

From the preferences pane, you can enable and disable the animation on demand by enabling or disabling the tweak. Below this are the actual options, which include changing the default white color of the old television-style animation, using a screenshot instead of a color, changing the opacity of the color, changing the duration of the animation, and the ability to enable the tweak in landscape mode and not just portrait mode.

If the user wants to select a color besides white, the color choices are listed below:
    • Dark gray
    • Light gray
    • White
    • Gray
    • Red
    • Green
    • Blue
    • Cyan
    • Yellow
    • Magenta
    • Orange
    • Purple
    • Brown

Opacity and animation duration settings are set with sliders. The screenshot option will squish the currently opened interface into the animation rather than a solid color – the developer warns that enabling this feature will cause the animation to be slower on the iPad than the iPhone and iPod touch. When landscape mode is enabled, the animation will only occur when the device is in a landscape-supported application, not when the device is held in the landscape position.

The old television-style locking animation is definitely a great way to personalize your device differently than everyone else’s. If you are into this kind of personalization, you will not be disappointed by TVLocker Pro, as it comes with so many options that you can make it perform the way you want it to. Through our testing, the animation does not cause any kind of lagging with the device-locking process and everything works as expected.

If you are curious about trying the animation for free, then check out Bensge's free jailbreak tweak called TVLocker. It doesn't come with all of the settings TVLocker Pro does, however it will let you see if the animation is right for you.

Yeah. Does the original designer now have a case against Bensge?

I had this on my 3GS. I remember it randomly stopped working though. I wish they would bring back the old school pay phone dialer tweak.

i think i've reached my iphone's limit for apps. i've begun removing apps that don't make me sing. this app does nothing for me either. saying, "the buck stops here," is a little too cliche.

the other ones worked fine and since i already bought one this doesn't have enough new features to justify the new purchase, though i agree for those that have yet to purchase a tweak like this it is nicer.
