Default Upcoming Minecraft - Pocket Edition Update Packs a Slew of New Features

The developer team behind the iOS version of Minecraft has recently submitted an update, version 0.4.0, of the popular app. The dev team seems to be adding some really important elements to the game with Chests being one of them. Chests can be built with materials found in the world and allow players to store more and more of what they find and collect out there. In addition to Chests, Beds are also being added in to the game. Beds help players easily survive the gameís dangerous night.

The gameís most iconic enemy, the Creeper, is also headed to the mobile version of the game in the upcoming update. For those of you who donít know what the Creeper does, itís a zombie that sneaks up on playerís from behind, then explodes when close. Upon exploding, the monster not only hurts the players but also destroys nearby structures.

The changelog for the update can be found below:

    New features:

     Chests to store items
 Beds to skip night and setting your spawn point
     Creepers!
 TNT, and flint and steel to ignite
 Food items added: apples, bread, mushroom soup, beef, chicken and pork
 Added recipes: wool from string, green wool and stone bricks
 Added a Peaceful Mode option for survival mode without monsters
 Added wheat, seeds and hoe
 Added moss stone, redstone ore and white wool to creative inventory
     Added trap door
 Red dye can be obtained by cooking red mushroom
 Added several more dyes (combined from primary dyes)
     Zombies now drop feathers

    Tweaks:

     Made the day longer
 Limited the total number of a given monster type
 When using an item, the playerís movement speed is decreased

    Bug fixes:

     Monsters could spawn indoors
 Added fall damage for clients
 Players could knock each other far away
 Incorrect bow rendering in 3rd person view
 Missing particles after critical arrows
 Stairs reverted back to their basic blocks when destroyed
 Charging the bow could destroy certain blocks (flowers, torches), or interact with blocks
 The game crashed if player was killed while having the bow charged
 Connecting players could die in creative mode
 Dark leaves sometimes had workbench texture
 Wrong crafting table size for Xperia Play
 Bow didnít take damage when used
 Non-dark brown tree trunks are now added back to the game (you may need to start a new world as host)
 Destroying a door could leave half a door
 Missing spider death sound on iOS
For iOS gamers, this sounds like a significant update that should leave a lot to look forward to. For gamers who have played both the PC and iOS version of Minecraft, youíll notice the differences between the two iterations continue to shrink as more and more features are being introduced to the iOS version of the game. According to the development team, the patch has been submitted to Apple already and should be out within a month.
