iPhone 4 Prototype with Unique Logo Spotted on eBay
We’ve all seen quite a few prototype iPhone models but how about possibly owning one of them? Well now you might be able to do just that as a rare Apple iPhone N90 prototype (which is the iPhone 4) seems to have appeared on eBay. It should be noted that the prototype has a strange logo on the back panel, one that resembles a Pokéball (for those of you who are familiar with Pokémon) as opposed to the usual Apple logo which everyone is familiar with.
According to the eBay description, the device is a very rare Apple iPhone 4 prototype which has a storage capacity of 32GB. The back panel isn’t screwed to the shell of the device like the final retail version of the iPhone 4. The prototype is said to use a back clamp system which has been broken so the back panel falls off very easily (supposedly). As mentioned before, we’ve seen pictures of quite a few prototype models but none that are operational prototypes. This specific model has had a battery replaced but apparently still turns on and seems to be fully operational. It should be noted that users can’t make or receive calls or upgrade it to iOS 5. The prototype only runs Apple’s test software suite, which is known as SwitchBoard.
We doubt that too many people would actually want to own such a device but if you want to get your hands on what appears to be a unique piece of Apple history, you can make a big or $4,500 or more and possibly even contact the seller with an offer of $10,000 to buy it out. The internet seems to get a bit crazier every day and the fact that such a device has recently surfaced the web goes to show just that. If you're interested in looking at more pictures of the device, check the eBay listing by hitting the source link below!

I think the logo looks more like a death star than a pokeball.

I remember a jailbreak developer (ie: Musclenerd Comex...) about a year ago said that if anything like this ever happened, it would make it substantially easier to find exploits. Too bad the iPhone 4 already has a bootrom exploit!

Why would apple go thru the trouble and money of printing "Prototype" on the back. Seems a little fishy to me.

Its a hoax IMHO. Buy prototype or buy real..hmmm.

Looks at lot more like a knockoff or even easier, a custom casing.
But nah, super secret prototype for sure...
