Hot Rumor: Verizon Blocking Late September Employee Vacations

In what comes as a major indication of when Apple may begin shipping the sixth generation iPhone, news comes today that Verizon has reportedly begun restricting the days on which retail store employees can take vacations next month.

According to the report in question, the carrier is strictly prohibiting vacation days between September 21 and Friday, September 30th. If the rumor mill - which suggests that Apple will unveil the new iPhone on September 12th is correct - this would put the device in stores and in consumer hands within two weeks of the unveiling.

Based on what a credible source is admitting to Tech Crunch, the next iPhone... "will almost certainly be available in stores (with lines wrapping around the back of them) starting Friday, September 21."

Despite months of rumors that the device wouldn't arrive until October, Apple now appears poised to go with a September launch this time around. In 2011, the iPhone 4S was unveiled on Tuesday, October 4th - the same week of Steve Jobs' passing. The iPhone 4S subsequently arrived in stores on October 14th.

Nice - can't wait to see what they have in store for the iPod Touch. I'm really starting to doubt the whole "mini iPad" thing - you'd think we would see more substantial leaks by now.

We already know its coming in Sept..whats the biggie? Im not sure about the mini either. Im still wondering about the price point if they do make one. Why buy a touch when you can have an iPad that is slightly bigger? We shall see.
