Report: AT&T to Release Next-Gen iPhone Late Next Month

As MMi has covered extensively in recent days, Apple is on the verge of introducing the 6th generation iPhone in the coming weeks. But just because we may get our first look at the new iPhone in early September, it isn't yet clear when consumers will be able to get their hands on the hotly anticipated device.
On Monday, however, sources close to the development and launch of the next-generation device reveal that AT&T will, in fact, begin selling the new iPhone in "late September," ostensibly within two weeks of the formal unveiling of the refreshed smartphone.
One individual in the know tells BGR that the carrier is "currently planning to launch Apple’s next-generation iPhone during the third or fourth week of September, with an all-hands-on-deck policy in place for employees that will extend through to the middle of October."
Based on supply chain and industry analyst chatter, Apple is going into production with the biggest first-round iPhone production order in company history, as unprecedented demand could quickly make the 6th generation iPhone the bestselling smartphone in Apple history.A second AT&T source confirms that a large training event for regional employees has been rescheduled from the first week of October due to a conflict with a “huge announcement.”

I understand the excitement of a new iPhone, especially a new body style. Whether you sport a 3GS or a 4S they all share same software basically and same screen size. Is anyone else disappointed with the rumors of a mere add to height and same width? Sounds like a cheap shortcut. For the first time I may end up "thinking " of a switch. I use my phone for almost everything anymore and a 4.3 inch would be a comfortable size. Just me I guess

I really hope the longer screen and keeping the current width doesn't
make it look fugly.

I'll wait until it's jailbroken. Made the mistake of pre-ordering a 4S and went crazy without MyWi. Still not excited about a larger screen. I keep mine in my pocket and refuse to wear a holster.
