Images Surface of iPhone 5 Nano-SIM Tray
Feast your eyes on our latest look at what we are told are images of the next-generation's nano-SIM tray.
This supposed image leak comes on the heels of recent reports that the next-generation Apple smartphone will be unveiled September 12th and arrive in stores - and at your doorstep - within ten days thereafter.
This alleged SIM card tray for the new phone, which is still being called the "iPhone 5" across the blogosphere, caters to the new nano-SIM standard. It all plays beautifully into Apple having a more sleek, compact design for the refreshed iPhone.
As MMi previously reported, Sharp and Japan Display are said to be currently mass producing panels for the next iPhone using in-cell technology.
In line with the photos we've seen and the designs widely discussed throughout the industry, nano-SIMs are approximately 40% smaller than current "micro-SIMs."

All there doing is cutting away all the plastic around the chip. The chip is the same size still. Lol

*find iPhone parts takes picture of nanosim tray and not iphone*. I mean sure if they are in factories or whatnot but still I feel like these peeps have perfect opportunities to get a hold of better iPhone parts..
But you know I'm not trying to conspire even though it is conspiring.but I believe apple is behind most leaks and that creates huge hype. Because of apples "clumsiness" and the way they act super "top secret classified etc" websites like this solely focused on rumors exist and only for apple products. I believe that's one of their keys to success. Anyway cool beans I hate clunky sim carda

So phone sizes are going back to the Zack Morris days, yet the internals are becoming the size of ants? haha! Hopefully there is a real reason behind the size. Would like to know of the benefits. Making room internally for bigger battery etc.

Going from conventional sim cards to the micro-sims actually yield a noticible different in the amount of space a tray consumes, but this time around the difference seems marginal at best. This appears to be a needless move that will prevent easy interoperability of sim cards between devices for little gain. For example, one might want to use the sim card from their work-issued device in the device they already own and prefer. This is not a way-out-there scenario by any means, but because of this ever-shrinking sim card size, such swapping is becoming much more difficult to do. Perhaps this is be design. Yes, one can cut out the small sized core out of a larger sized sim, but that incurs the risk of damaging it.

Original sim to Misco sim to Nano sim............so no matter how we cut the original sim, it's not gonna fit on a nano sim tray.
