Theme of the Week 7/21 - 7/27

Out of all of the themes we saw this week, 4 Real [HD] by Sanady361 took the winning spot as this week’s theme of the week because of the careful attention to detail that the theme includes.

4 Real [HD] has a great appearance everywhere you look. The theme will theme every icon on your home screen. There are over 100 different supported application icons that will be changed and for those where the icons aren’t changed, the icons are skinned by the theme’s square-like appearance so they fit right in. The icons used to replace the stock icons look awesome, depict what the application is for, and are high definition. Application icon badges are square and black while the multitasking App Switcher gets round, black X buttons. Application names are capitalized to keep that square-like appearance and the dock gets a nice shiny replacement. Even the ModMyi app gets themed!
As shown on the lock screen, there is cool-looking battery indicator while you are plugged in. When the indicator is in the green position, you are fully charged and when the indicator starts hitting yellow, you know it’s time to start plugging in. Also on the lock screen is the slide to unlock slider, which gets a new look to match the boxiness of the theme and so does the clock.
Notification Center and the multitasking App Switcher get a new background to match each other. The theme comes with its own wallpapers, which are integrated right into the stock wallpaper list in the Settings application – these wallpapers match the darker color scheme of Notification Center and the multitasking App Switcher so everything just comes together. The Notification Center grabber is changed a little bit to resemble up and down arrows and the multitasking App Switcher's iPod controls also get a boxy makeover.

As you take a look into application interfaces such as Settings, Notes, Facebook, Weather, Stocks, Calculator, Phone, and much more, you will notice that the theme also changes the interface of them and makes them look at one with the color scheme and shape setting of the theme itself. With these changes, nothing feels inconsistent and the theme feels very complete all around iOS.
Also noticeable are the changes in the Status Bar, which takes on a black and silver color scheme. The battery indicator gets a new look that resembles that of the stock battery that appears on the lock screen before the theme only with a gray filling instead of a green one. The battery percentage font also gets a makeover. The Wi-Fi indicators get a new pattern – a center diamond with two surrounding curves – the top curve is the third level indicator that appears when you have full signal strength, the bottom curve is the second level indicator, and the center diamond is the lowest signal strength you can get – the first level indicator. These indicators light up and dim down as your signal strength changes.

The cherry on top – 4 Real [HD] comes with personalized loading screens for almost all of the stock applications. Each loading screen is different and depicts the application you are opening with a very high definition picture.
4 Real [HD] can be found on the ZodTTD & MacCiti repository for a cost of $2.99. Once you enable this theme from WinterBoard, you will admire the detail that went into making every pixel on your screen change into something better.
Be sure to catch up with next week's best theme only on ModMyi!

This is a very thorough and complete theme, however, it's not as brilliant as it's made out to be. The graphics are, in my humble opinion, nicely done reproductions of other themes that I have come across. The icons, square in all their glory, have been done over dozens of times. However, this is one of the most complete themes. The attention to detail with many facets of the overall UI is tremendous. This could be converted into a really nice Dreamboard theme with a few tweaks to UI elements.

I don't even pay attention to these theme of the week posts. Most the time the theme that wins is not really all that great.

This is actually a pretty nice theme. Super clean, great use of source images, and elegant. Good choice

Does anyone else have any issues with it crashing when openning the settings app?
