iPhone 4S Exposes You to Three Times More Radiation Than Samsung Galaxy S III
The heated debate of picking an Android device or picking an iOS device is always constant. Many people look to compare hardware specs, software features, and many more things but one thing that people probably tend to overlook is the radiation measurement of each device. The company behind the radiation measurement app, Tawkon, recently released an infographic detailing the SAR (a measurement of the rate at which energy is absorbed by the body when exposed to a radio frequency electromagnetic field) score of various popular smartphones.
Turns out, Apple’s iPhone 4S was the second highest offender with a SAR level of 1.11 w/kg, coming very close to hitting the maximum SAR level allowed by the FCC (which is 1.6 w/kg). In fact, the iPhone 4S tripled the SAR level of the Galaxy S III, which ended up coming in at the bottom of the totem pole with a SAR score of 0.34 w/kg. The level of radiation as well as the SAR (Specific Absorption Rate) has been a long controversial topic in regards to smartphones and the effects they have on our bodies. There are several conflicting reports out there and it seems the only thing everyone seems to agree upon is that no one knows exactly what kind of effects the non-ionizing electromagnetic radiation emitted by cellphones have on human tissue.
It is suggested that consumers just be cautious of any level of radiation exposure. While the SAR levels and the maximum level set by the FCC are well below the level at which laboratory testing indicates adverse health effects could occur, it’s always better to be safe than sorry and limit your daily smartphone use (no matter which device you end up using).

Bluetooth and a headset!
I'm a huge headset whore.
I'm not too worried about the radiation we probably get more from getting a tooth x-rayed.

So? It's not like I use it to make phone calls anyway.

Wondering why the iphone uses 3x as much; or is it one of those 'no MSG fads, cooked with water not oil things'.

Well a few friends of mine who're always proposing war between my iPhone and there Samsung phones recently upgraded to the Galaxy S3 and have been reporting major missed calls and call drop out when they actually connect.
They are on three differing networks and live in 5 different areas.
Maybe the antenna is weaker.
Maybe the higher SAR rating is due to the functioning of the iPhone's more powerful antenna...??!
I don't know...
The experts can correct me.

Probably one of those things that take 1000x the amount recorded to do any damage, they prob tested on rats LOL :P
Ya a buddy of mine got a GS3 and had major problems with it, he called samsung tech support and believe or not they sent him some ota patches for known issues with the phone. LMFAO :P Told him WTF?? would a company like that release a phone with known issues?? LOL Sorry but another reason why i stick with iPhone.

Like your phone will make a difference when pretty much everything around you (in a first world country) gives off slight radiation and on that small of a scale it's large.. Telephone lines etc...
