Default Redsn0w Updated for iOS 6 Beta 3 [Developers]

Developers that upgraded to iOS 6 beta 3 today from the over the air (OTA) update might have been in for a little surprise after attempting to jailbreak the new firmware tethered with the developer release of redsn0w. Developers have been able to jailbreak iOS 6 beta 1 and iOS beta 2 by simply pointing redsn0w to the iOS 6 beta 1 firmware file and it was a tethered jailbreak.

Today, MuscleNerd tweeted that the developer version of redsn0w has been updated with support for iOS 6 beta 3. This time, developers will need to point redsn0w to the iOS 6 beta 3 firmware file rather than the iOS 6 beta 1 firmware file. More information can be found from the iPhone Dev-Team's Blog:

The updated redsn0w remains for developers only, since iOS 6 beta is only available to people with developer accounts with Apple. The jailbreak will not install Cydia on the device in an attempt to keep regular users from using the jailbreak prematurely. Instead, the jailbreak only installs an SSH tool onto the device so developers can SSH their creations to the iOS device for testing so that jailbreak tweaks and applications can be ready for iOS 6 as soon as the first tethered or untethered jailbreak is released for the public release of iOS 6.

The developer-only jailbreak is tethered and requires you to boot tethered after every reboot by connecting the device to a computer and running redsn0w. It is also only for A4 devices (excluding the original iPad) and the iPhone 3GS since these are the only devices with a bootrom exploit that run Apple’s new iOS 6 beta 3 operating system.

Developers can download the updated redsn0w from the links below:
    redsn0w 0.9.13dev3 for Windows
    redsn0w 0.9.13dev3 for Mac OS X

That was quick, regardless if it is tethered.

Good news maybe this meant that there will be a unteathered jailbreak for the new i phone sooner than several months as previous thanks Dev keep up the good work.

Good job isright! But, why are A5 devices behind the curve? Not to knock the iP4, but the iP4s is the flagship and superior hardware of Apple at this time. Wouldn't a A5 IOS 6 jailbreak be closer to a iP5 jailbreak possibility when released?

    Just asking,

A4 devices have a bootrom exploit. A5 do not. That means A4 devices will always have at least a tethered jailbreak.

Im thankful for all of the efforts for the jailbreak but i'll wait for the untethered version. Rebooting and having to run to my computer every time i need to do so gets annoying. Thank anyway!
