Default Recruiting Video Gives Public Unique Look at Apple's Inner Workings

The inner workings of Apple for the most part are a mystery to the general population. However, a new recruiting video posted on Apples prospective employee page gives the general public an “inside” look at the company’s operations.

While the video is by no means an expose showing the inner workings of Apple, it does provide viewers with a decent tour of Apple’s Cupertino headquarters. The video takes viewers through Apple’s engineering labs, some R&D facilities, and uses the story of how Apple created the iPad 2’s smart cover as an example of the dedication required of Apple employees.

Many times throughout the video different employees from engineers, to marketing directors, and retail employees opine about what it means to be an Apple employee and how only those at the top of their respective field, or those that have the potential to be at the top of their field work at Apple.

Joel Podolny, Apples VP of Human Resources and Dean of Apple University, narrates a sizeable portion of video, but as mentioned before numerous other employees take their turn humanizing a company that remains a mystery despite its products permeating popular culture and our daily lives.

What I like about apple is they are willing to shoulder all the work to make sure the consumer doesn't have to. The only part I don't like is that they don't allow the consumer to do some work, when they DO want to. It may be a beautiful dictatorship, but still beautiful.. and a dictatorship.
