Facebook Messenger Update Packs a Slew of Features

Facebook recently rolled out an update to its messaging app that makes it much more competitive when it comes to the market. Other cross-device IM services such as WhatsApp and Kik need to be on the lookout if they weren’t already due
to the slew of features that Facebook has recently incorporated.
Headlining the new additions is a new online buddy list and revamped push notifications that make the app much more appealing to use. The full list of features can be found below:
The main thing that makes Messenger stand out over other IM platforms is the fact that it has nearly a billion active members since it incorporates the chat client with its social media platform. Most other cross-device IM services usually lack the numbers when it comes to active members to be long-lasting and in-demand platforms. If you are interested in trying out the new Facebook Messenger, you can do so by downloading it from the App Store for free (you’ll need a Facebook account of course).- Quickly switch between multiple conversations with in-app notifications
- Include friends of friends in conversations
- Swipe to delete individual messages from conversations
- See who’s available when you start a new conversation
- Share bigger photos, tap for full screen and pinch to zoom
- Faster app loading, navigating and sending
- More-reliable push notifications
- Bug fixes

I was just about to say the same 2 things. Why have another freaking app when you could just build it into the current one, but the current app is such a piece of codded garbage that I see why the group responsible wouldn't want it near the FB app itself!!!!!
