'TetherStatus' Makes the Status Bar Look Better When Tethering

If you like tethering, but don’t enjoy having the extra large status bar that compresses everything and causes issues in some applications, then maybe this new free jailbreak tweak dubbed TetherStatus by iOS developers moeseth and satropuk is something you need to look into. It makes the status bar not only more pleasant to look at, but also more application-friendly.
By compressing the enlarged status bar into its original sized state, you can now tether without the inconvenience of having everything squished to meet the requirements of the additional pixels required by Apple’s design. TetherStatus will do all of the following:- Reduce the status bar to original size
- Show a circled number indicating the amount of devices using your data
- Clock will strobe between the time and the words, "HotSpot: On"
The graphics, which were created by satropuk, are very good looking; having a native appearance. Functionally, the circled number will change as expected to match the number of devices using the personal hotspot feature and the status bar does shrink as expected. Additionally, because the clock strobes between "HotSpot: On" and the current time, you will always know what time it is and you will always know when your personal hotspot feature is being used.
For a free jailbreak tweak, the tweak does have a lot of thought put into it. It is worth installing on any device that can tether regardless of your need to shrink the status bar or not, simply because the new look is pretty slick. You can only use the tweak on tethering-capable devices such as the iPhone and you must be running iOS 5 to use this tweak. If you use TetherMe, the tweak is fully compatible. Give it a try!

Cool tweak I always found that to be a bit obtrusive

You could also look at the File structure in how it installs and just change the blue banner color to transparent
I'd prefer the way I just said cause else what time is it? How much ram do I have? What's the freakin date?

True I don't tether alot to worry about that. But you do have a point there.

I'm hoping they remove the 'telephony' capabilities prerequisite soon. I'd like to use this tweak on my iPad and it is denied. Might have to do those tricks that people use to ignore prerequisites on Debian...
Looks nice though on my iPhone.Member of the hackint0sh forums.
