[Review] ChargingBackground - Display Your Lock Screen Wallpaper When Charging
One thing that is limited in customization is the lock screen of iOS. It’s very simple and clean, however it’s even simpler when the device is charging because Apple created the lock screen to display a black background behind the large battery indicator icon. Not only does this make the lock screen more boring because of the lack of color and creativity, but it’s just another feature that Apple doesn’t want you tinkering with. You know what that means – jailbreakers unite!
A new free jailbreak tweak is now live in Cydia dubbed ChargingBackground by iOS developer MPow. The free tweak allows your lock screen wallpaper to show under the large battery indicator icon. Depending on the lock screen wallpaper you are using, the battery could look better or worse than the screenshot example above. Since my wallpaper has colors too close to those in the battery, it doesn't look too great. It's recommended to use darker lock screen backgrounds with this tweak.
The tweak gives you the peace of mind of being able to take control of yet another locked-off feature of iOS, however you will have to choose whether or not you like the black default background because there is no way to enable and disable the tweak on demand without uninstalling and reinstalling it. ChargingBackground has no options to configure whatsoever.
Since a lot of iOS device users let the device charge when they aren’t using it, for example when they sleep, this mod probably isn’t that big of a deal for most. In addition, Apple chose to implement the black background default for a good reason – most wallpapers don’t look good with the battery laying on top of them. Whether you like the tweak or not, it’s free and you can certainly give it a try with your wallpaper!

The only problem is that when you're using a theme the charging screen doesn't even show! It would be nice if there was a tweak to fix this...!!!

How do you make the slide to unlock like this? And can you make the lock screen clock with a similiar style as well? I just hope you won't say Winterboard

It makes no sense to me why this is already built in on the iPads, and not iPod touchs and iPhones.

WAlpha does this but also let's you choose the percentage of transparency

As usual, epic fail on this app - takes over way too much, not just adjusting the background. Also disables most other winterboard based improvements, like 'lock seconds"
Another worthless tool because it's too carelessly written.

it's a good job it's free or I would have suggested people buy Springtomize II as it has this option and a whole lot more
