Yeah, it's a bait and switch for heavy users. They want to suck you away from your current carrier, then when you exceed 2.3GB, you're shut down to pay for another refill at $55.00.

It is like Virgin Mobile, except you can use your purchased $400/$500 iPhone instead of their cheap phones.

You should also be concerned whether you will have coverage in your neck of the wood (community for those without any imagination).

I will keep my crappy Virgin Mobile LG (did I say crappy?) phone that I tether with my JB iPad2/3GS as needed for $40/mo. For 1,200 talk,UL text, UL data .....throttle comes at 2.5GB.

I'm using the 3GS WiFi and GPS without a SIM card in Paris, FR without a glitch. I bought the 3GS for $50 from a profane when the iPhone4 first sold.

Everywhere I turn, I see Frenchies with the 3GS.

    My $.02

I'm happy with my AT&T plan. With me and a friend sharing a base family package (don't ever use minutes esp now that AT&T support unlimited to any mobile) unlimited text and all grandfathered unlimited data that puts out bill at 80 bucks per person ways (was 60 per person when we had three )

I get good coverage where I live and Internet speeds from 3-10 mb/sec (not the fastest I know but also don't even live where "4g" get great speeds.
