Une Bobine Doubles as iPhone Stand and Charging Cord
The Une Bobine (it’s French for “A Coil”), featured above, is the latest successful iOS Kickstarter project and rightfully so.
The idea is simple. A charging cable, with a metal gooseneck material that lets you bend and contort it into different shapes, but is strong enough to act as a stand. This dock and cable in one offers an incredibly unique and minimalist solution for iPhone users out there.
The Kickstarter campaign ends June 15th, but it doesn’t really matter considering Une Bobine’s creators [FUSE]Chicken have already raised $102,296, or roughly 10 times their fundraising goal. Those hoping to secure an Une Bobine can head over to the Kickstarter page and pledge a minimum of $25 to secure their own ($50 gets you two, $75 (4), $100 (6) all they way up to $500, which gets you 33).
After blasting through their total project funding goal of a measly $9,800 [FUSE]Chicken upped the ante to $90,000, promising customers a few interesting additions if they were able to reach the goal. Well, they did it, and the additions include a 12-inch petite Une Bobine to go along with the standard 24-inch model, and the inclusion of a 3-foot USB extension cable with every Une Bobine purchase.
With more than 2,500 backers and a planned first production run of more than 10,000 Une Bobines, chances are those who want one will be be able to secure a Une Bobine when they become available later this year.

Very cool "thinking out of the box" idea. I love it. Downside; waiting till July for delivery, but worth it for me.

Like the idea, but the amount of strain it probably puts on the iPhone's charging port must be a lot. Probably lead to damage. Just my 2 cents.

I can already see this being used for people that want to mount their iPhones in their car to text or FaceTime while driving.

I only wish I would have backed this when I first read about it, so I could get the $40 special! Oh well, I am totally sold! Now I have to wait until July?? lol. I just hope that this flex-e-doo-dad stays rigid enough. And it will be like a taco inside a taco within a Taco Bell that's inside a KFC that's within a mall that's inside your dream! Springboard screwy after reboot? Here is the fix

Very cool idea. I'll certainly buy a couple when they come to full market.

Apple is changing their dock connector when the iPhone 5 comes out!

It is a wonderful idea. I certainly want one, but will wait until the next iPhone is announced to decide. Wouldn't want to have a peripheral that I can only use for two months, assuming the new smaller 30-pin dock connector rumors are true.

Backed this about 3 weeks ago. Comes with a 3 foot extension cable now too.
