[Review] VertaSwitch - Vertical Multitasking Animations

Apple’s multitasking includes some pretty nice animations for when you switch between one application and another. Unforunately, they don’t give you any options for how the animation should look. At least on Mac OS X, Apple gives you the ability to change the animations for how windows should be minimized. Well now, a new free jailbreak tweak dubbed VertaSwitch by iOS developer PrimeCode gives you the ability to have a different multitasking animation.

The change isn’t a massive one, however as illustrated by the screenshots above, you can clearly see the difference. As the name infers, the tweak changes the horizontal animation to a vertical one. Unfortunately, the tweak doesn’t come with any options for adjusting the speed or appearance of the animation. Uninstalling VertaSwitch is the only way to get back to the default animation.

Changing between a horizontal animation and a vertical animation doesn’t seem like that big of a deal, however this concept seems to ring a bell (it comes with Springtomize 2, which is $2.99). If you own Springtomize 2 already, there is no reason for you install this jailbreak tweak. The only real benefit from this tweak would be that it's free and gives you the freedom to choose which animation you want.

Since the tweak does exactly what it was intended to do, we don’t have a whole lot of negative comments about it. The people that love changing things around just to escape Apple’s grip will love something like this because it allows you to do something iOS would never permit you to do. Since it’s free, give it a try and see if you like this animation better.

Exactly ... Had vertical app to app for more than a year already... How is this any different... Seems it is the same thing... Why do we need another tweak with the same function as another and no new options or settings... I don't understand how it got a review on mmi if it's a rehash...
