Home Button to Change on 6th Generation iPhone?

Since the refreshed versions of the iPhone started being released over the years, the staple feature of a bottom lower home button has been a fixture every bit as common and expected as the iPhone's touchscreen itself.

But just as the rumor mill has suggested in the past, the home button may either be on the chopping block or up for a dramatic refresh of its own. According to the latest insight, it could be the 6th generation iPhone, likely due out this fall, that could finally deliver on this longstanding rumor.

But don't expect too much of a dramatic change - or even a noticeable one. According to reports today from the far east, if any change is coming, it's a simple redesign, as illustrated by the alleged home button replacement part pictured above. But the change may truly be almost indistinguishable to the human eye, as the biggest component tweak to the home button may be internal.

As we get close to the prospective launch window (June-through-October), the rumor mill is bound to turn out more supposed insight. But for the time being, the most widely anticipated new feature of the next-gen iPhone will be 4G LTE compatibility and, per Gene Munster's compelling suspicion, a significant redesign that has yet to become apparent to the rest of us.

FINALLY AFTER 5 YEARS A NEW HOME BUTTON, i can picture it now, black with a white circle in the middle, and the ability to return you to the home screen or send you to spotlight. $600 bucks that's worth every penny.

Im sure there will be a flood of iOS changes..I mean Apple is ousting OS X for crying out loud. This is prime time to showcase iOS across multiple platforms. I think the biggest changes are yet to come. As for the iPhone..are we really lacking much as far as physical? We already have the most simplistic phone to use. I like the home button and hope it never goes away..its a selling point. The body(chasis) is what im interested in. The 1st gen iPhone has a decent body but it was slippery in the hands and scratched rather easy. Hoping they get the scratch issue under control and get rid of the glass..you know the one you've had to replace 3 times haha! Jokes! I work in IT so i see a lot of "dropped" iPhones coming through. Very excited about what the 6th phone will look like and how many new tweaks we'll get..excited!!

Is it just me or is it just me!? Ya know, I always want my home buttom to come with customizable 8-way sliding softkeys (something like blackberry's but better). Then can say bye bye to those kinda weird iControlPad or whatever stick-on-the-screen-joystick-things and say hello to new-ways-of-gaming on par with vita. U can even use it for added security mechanism for lockscreen; ya know... up-up-down-down-left-right-left-right-slide2unlock. Anyway, that might start-up a whole bunch of patent world war III.
