[Review] Forecast - Show the Weather On Your Lock Screen

If you are one of the many people thinking the iOS lock screen could be improved, then you would be correct. Some people enjoy the simplistic and clean user interface as it is when it’s stock, however there are also many who enjoy adding things to it to reduce the effort necessary to get information on the fly. A new jailbreak tweak dubbed Forecast by iOS developer Stimpy5050 will add a weather widget to your iOS lock screen, similar but not identical to the Notification Center version.
How does it differ? Unlike the Notification Center widget, Forecast displays the time and date in the widget. This is useful because it does replace the large clock dash from the lock screen. You can swipe side to side to switch between weekly or current weather views just like in Notification Center. It automatically uses your location to determine your local weather and you can refresh the weather manually using the refresh button under the temperature.
Using the backbone of Apple’s weather widget design, Forecast keeps good proportions on the lock screen. It looks like it was meant to be there and it is visually attractive just as it is functionally useful. This method of getting the weather widget on your lock screen is affordable (only 99¢) and is more practical than using IntelliScreenX or Bulletin to get the entire Notification Center on the lock screen. The speed is exceptional, offering no noticeable lag to the end user.
Forecast will automatically refresh the weather information every 15 minutes so you don’t have to worry about it being too far off on accuracy. Forecast has no options to configure. Installing it will automatically place the widget on your lock screen and you can start enjoying it immediately.

Finally the perfect tweak that does exactly the right thing without changing the original Apple-esque look of the lock screen. Good job! No, I don't want my lock screen to look like android, I want it to look like iPhone and this is it.

Seeing as I have LockInfo, I won't need this tweak but I basically do the same thing with LockInfo as I do with this tweak.

Well you could have like OmniStat or something that you want to see in your LS and Bulletin would do that for you. Not everyone uses bulletin for weather
Oh and it gets rid of iPod controls when you double press home button,Last edited by CrAcKzZZ; 04-22-2012 at 12:34 PM.

I installed Forecast and now the music controls do not appear when pressing the home button twice on the lockscreen. Is anyone having the same issue?

Refreshing every 15 minutes?? Without the option to change the intervals? Sounds like a battery drain to me. Looking forward to user feedback on this before I try.

Ditto if someone finds the refresh adjustment.
Otherwise I like the tweak. Bought it last night.

I installed it, worked great for a minute or two. After that when I went to my lock screen it would show just one day of weather and that day was magnified. I swiped at the lock screen and every day was like that and my time was magnified too. Didn't notice if iPod controls were gone or not....long story short, I uninstalled. Looked great at first but turned out to be crap in the end.

MyLocation App update for 5.1.1 - 6.1.2 from bushe! Incase you are having problems, this app is working fine. You may need an updated location.js file. If it has been updated, and still not updating go to settings/general/reset and reset all settings, this will not affect your JB!
Download these Instructions - Instructions!
To install the MyLocation app, just add my repo and install it! - http://cydia.myrepospace.com/kohidevice/
