Default Best Tweaks of the Week 4/2 - 4/8

Here are the best jailbreak creations for the week of April 2nd until today, April 8th as per the opinion of our staff. This is a recap.

    1. Aero - $1.99

Aero is a new jailbreak tweak by iOS development team SBCoders. The tweak attempts to bring a finished multitasking interface to iOS, outdoing Apple not only in appearance, but also in functionality. The tweak comes with several customizable animations as well as appearances and backgrounds you can select to make Aero look exactly how you want it to. It has a little fuzziness on the icons due to the retina display and the blown-up images, however as a precaution, the developer added an option to reduce the size of the icons and therefore reduce the fuzziness by quite a bit. The options well outweigh the small downside.

    2. HeadphoneLauncher - 99¢

HeadphoneLauncher is a new jailbreak tweak by iOS development firm S2 IT Consulting LLC. The tweak’s purpose is to make it more wonderful to use sound accessories with your iOS device. It does this by showing an application launcher whenever speakers, headphones, or some other sound device is plugged into the headphone jack. This makes it nice and easy to set your favorite music, movie, or YouTube applications in easy reach so they’re available for you as soon as you plug your headphones in. You can have as many applications as you want in this launcher and it even looks good.

    3. Curiosa - FREE

Curiosa is a new free jailbreak tweak by iOS hacker and developer Ryan Petrich. Coming to the table, finally, is Curiosa (originally to be named CydiaBulletin) to show you when Cydia updates are available right by iOS 5 notification integration. It includes integration with Notification Center, iOS 5 banners, and the lock screen notifications. Settings include the ability to filter updates, set check intervals, and the option to check manually using an Activator action. Since many of us don’t check Cydia for tweak updates often, Curiosa is a step forward at helping us do so more often, whether we open Cydia or not.

    4. TouchPosé+ - $1

TouchPosé+ is a new jailbreak tweak by iOS developer iolate that mirrors the functionality of the free TouchPosé, only with added features and customization options. This tweak allows you to have a circle or image of your choice appear on the display wherever you touch it. It supports multi-touch, so everywhere and anywhere you touch, the image will display. It includes size adjustment options, color options, and more. The tweak doesn’t have any useful purposes, however it adds a personal touch to your iPhone that no other iPhone will do without it. It’s a great way to add that customization you’ve always wanted.

    5. SMS Timestamps - FREE

SMS Timestamps is a new free jailbreak tweak by iOS developer Gabrio Barbieri. The tweak allows you to time-stamp every message that goes through your iPhone, both SMS messages and iMessages. Usually, Apple has it set up where conversations are time-stamped after an interval of time. With this tweak, you’ll be able to know exactly when every incoming and outgoing message is received or sent and the best part is, it couldn’t be simpler – having just an enable and disable switch in the Settings application. This tweak only works with the stock iOS Messages application.

Aero would be a lot better if you could quit apps with it.

You can. all you need to do is tap and hold like you normally do on the stock iOS mutli-task. The only difference here is that the red X does not come up on the icon for you to click, the app simply quits by holding it
