You won't see a tweak like this without Winterboard since MMI, BigBoss, etc. won't accept tweaks that alter the file system. Eg. K2 IntelliscreenX Toggles

Seriously.... I was exciting thinking maybe it would bring 4G indicator to AT&T users still on 5.0.1 when connected to HSPA+ but its just a phony icon.

Let me adjust my statement. They will not allow you to delete or move files in order for a theme to be substituted. If someone were able to do this with mobile substrate, then there shouldn't be a problem with making this work without winterboard. You'd, basically, be rerouting the information to point to your mobile substrate tweak

One of the 4G theme packages actually has an option to show "5G". Haha

But it is all purely cosmetic as mentioned earlier. Unlike running the 5.1 software on AT&T that shows 4G when you are on an HSPA+ network, this is a winter board theme and it will not differentiate between the 3G and (other 3G) network that AT&T is calling 4G. It'll just say 4G all the time you are on 3G.

You can also get it in different colors too.

But the 5G is the one that's the most hilarious.

I've never heard that either! Luckily Barrel is one of my top tweaks so maybe that's why I didn't have problems...

I am curious, though, if the 5.1 update brought the HSPA setting into the software so that the network sees 3G & 4G OR is HSPA already in the iPhones on iOS 5.0.1...

If its already in the iPhone @ 5.0.1, then icons could be made to change according to the network available. Obviously, though, we'd need to know if HSPA is the new .png filename

I also experienced lag while having winterboard installed on my iPhone 4s.
