Default [Review] ClipboardEdit - Edit Your Clipboard Contents From Notification Center

One powerful tool of most computers is the clipboard. It’s the space where a machine temporarily stores anything you copy or cut so you can paste it later on. iOS also has this feature, however it doesn’t give you a way to edit the clipboard after you have cut or copied something. This is where a new free jailbreak widget dubbed ClipboardEdit for Notification Center by iOS developer Ron Melkhior comes into play.

Illustrated by the screenshot series above, you can unmistakably see how after copying something to your clipboard, it becomes available to you in the small Notification Center widget, which is made visible after you install ClipboardEdit from Cydia. Editing your clipboard contents is as easy as tapping within the widget to bring up the iOS keyboard and then typing whatever you want to be in your clipboard instead of the text that is already there.

After you have entered the text you want to be in the clipboard, you tap on the return key in the bottom right of the iOS keyboard to input the data and then when you go to paste your text, the text you added to the widget will be pasted instead of whatever was there before you edited the text. It is imperative to note that this widget only supports text and not media like photos, for instance.

Like all of iOS’s widgets, you can enable and disable the ClipboardEdit widget by dragging it in and out of the “In Notification Center” list from the Notifications preferences pane in the Settings application. ClipboardEdit doesn’t come with any of its own options to configure – after installing and enabling the widget, you are ready to start using it as you would any other. It plays nicely with all other third party widgets and works with tweaks like Flowtation, WeeRoll, and IntelliScreenX. It's free, so try it out if it looks interesting.

The widget’s usefulness is a bit of a moot point. There is really no reason to have to edit your clipboard unless you have copied something you know has a typo in it – regardless of that fact, you can always edit the typo once you have pasted the text. If you needed something else besides what you had copied in your clipboard, it would have made more sense to have copied something else instead of what you chose to copy.

I think it's kind of convenient if you're copying something off of a picture or a text field you can't use the action menu on.

If you can't use Action Menu then how does this widget help you at all?

I'm saying you can quickly change between notification center and the other view to copy a long URL or something.
