[Review] iJokes for Siri - A Siri Add-on the Kids Will Love

Let’s face it. Sometimes our kids get bored and it quickly becomes annoying for the parent(s). If you are in need of some convenient and quick entertainment for them and you have an iOS device with Siri capability, then you might be in luck. A new AssistantExtensions add-on dubbed iJokes for Siri by iOS developer iPodHacks142 will help keep them entertained for a long while. Even if you don't have kids, you might find this new add-on to be quite the humorous companion.

The way the tweak works is actually very simple. You have AssistantExtensions installed (and if you don’t, it will be installed automatically because it is a dependency for iJokes for Siri). Because of this, Siri is capable of holding conversations, which she normally would not be able to provide through Apple’s servers. This was one of the key features of AssistantExtensions when it was released – the ability to carry on arbitrary conversations by saying, "Let's chat." The new iJokes for Siri add-on takes these arbitrary conversations even further by causing Siri to tell you a joke when you say to Siri, "Tell me a joke."

The jokes are extensive, however limited. The developer promises support for more jokes in the future, but there should be enough to get you out of a bad day for the time being.

The tweak does not have any useful functionality in that it is for entertainment purposes only. If you do not like clogging Siri with add-ons that do not really do anything useful, you won’t like iJokes for Siri. Another thing to note is because of its dependency on the chat bat from AssistantExtensions, you will need to wait a great deal of seconds (maybe up to a minute) to load up the joke interface. It is free, so try it out.

Because you have to say let's chat to activate it. By the way, if you say "tell me another joke" the initial chat bot would tell you jokes also...

It's pretty cool but all of these Siri addons would be better if they just worked out of the box without the "Let's Chat" part.

you know what makes mad is that when you ask IRIS on a droid phone who's the president of Poland, she replies by saying the name of the person but when you ask Siri...she replies by saying "how about a google search".....oh! thanks Siri thanks a lot that was very helpful!!!!!
