Draw With Friends Reaches 20 Million Downloads in Five Weeks

Draw Something lately? 20 million other people have.
Draw Something, the popular free or $.99 (no ads, more words and bonus coins) social game has generated 20 million downloads in under six weeks. CEO of OMGPOP, Dan Porter, claims the app is generating six figures a day and that the company has made more money since they released Draw Something than they did all of last year.
In case you haven’t played, been asked if you play, or watched someone play Draw Something, the premise is pretty simple. Users are given something to draw (choose between 3 suggestions), and the person they’re playing against must guess what it is they drew via a bank of letters. But, the fun comes watching how hilariously bad you or your opponent’s artistic skills are, which is amplified by the fact the game records your entire creative (or not so creative) process for your opponent to watch.
OMGPOP does concede that not all of the 20 million downloads have transferred to active users, with the number of people actively playing game rounding out near 12 million. However, statistics like the 3,000 drawings a second generated by users on March 11, 2012 are still impressive.
Now only if there was some way to connect a Wacom Intuos pad to your iDevice....

This is a really fun game. I enjoy drawing as much as guessing, also I love to watch the other person (should not be considered opponent as you two will get coins if he or you guess correctly) guess my drawings. I really recommend it, the paid version doesn't work as good as free version for me, I only get notifications with the free version so I have to have them both installed, the free version to see when it's my turn and the paid version to play. Other than that this game it's a 5star.

Draw Something, not Draw With Friends...lol. This game is pretty fun, however myself and a few friends had some account problems when we first got it. It said we had to enter a password even though we never created one, so most of us had to delete our account and start over again, which isn't as easy as it sounds. Also sometimes the game is behind giving you the wrong letters to guess a picture on. I thought all of that was pretty lame, those type's of bugs should be fixed before release cause they're pretty major. I'm also getting bored of it after a week or so like many other games I get from the App Store. It's a good idea though.

Was this failed attempt at being funny?
You can;t be wrong... it's your opinion. As slow as the game moves, I would hate teams, myself.
Ads... unless you purchase the game the adds are HORRIBLY intrusive. There is always a banner (something I can live with) and in between nearly every drawing there is an ad that takes up your whole screen that you have to click out of. I am sure they get plenty of miss-clicks per day, which is worth more to them than a simple impression. I know Angry Birds on Android makes ridiculous bank on ads too. Kind of sad... stupid mindless games make more money with less effort than full fledged console games which take years and years to create.Last edited by sziklassy; 03-14-2012 at 10:43 AM.

I once prayed to God for an iPhone, but quickly found out He didn't work that way...so I stole an iPhone and prayed for His forgiveness.
