[Review] BadgeRemover - Annihilate Those Pesky Badges
Do badges annoy you? One part about iOS that just keeps stacking with no mercy would be those notification badges you find on your icons when you get a new notification for an application. They just keep coming. Wouldnít it be nice to wipe them all from the face of your iPhone and stop seeing them all after one single jailbreak tweak installation?
A new free jailbreak tweak dubbed BadgeRemover by iOS developer Fllotouch will let you do that. After installed, badges will no longer display on your home screen, no matter what. Banners, lock screen notifications, and Notification Center notifications will appear normally. The tweak disables the iDeviceís capability to illustrate badges; it doesnít just let you clear them with some kind of Activator action or swipe.
This is a very powerful feature, but it comes with its pros and cons. Since your iDevice will no longer show you badges, it will be harder to discern if you have any notifications from a glance, forcing you to open Notification Center or your applications just to find out if anything is new. It would be a better idea to just let you clear all badges with a gesture instead of simply disabling the feature altogether. On the bright side, if you absolutely hate those badges then they will be gone forever (at least until you uninstall BadgeRemover).
If you donít get a whole lot of notifications or you donít mind seeing the badges on your application icons, then BadgeRemover is not something you want. The tweak works great, doing exactly as it claims. There are no preferences to configure and will work with any application that shows badges Ė even the Settings application when iOS 5 updates appear. Itís free, so you can see if you like it and uninstall it if you donít.

Or you could just install springtomize and double-tap to clear badges. I hate to be a troll but... there are tons of apps that do this already. Why bother reporting on another one like it?

The main reason why I need this app is for my iPad because I purchased the cydia tweak Barrel and it's buggy on my iPad 2 with misplacing the badge/update icons off to the far side of the apps which has badges.
