Just to be clear. The phones do not have to stay close to each other correct?

Still no go .. Siri just keeps saying there is a problem.. I've re-installed spire and all that.. makes me wonder if the fact I was using a real proxy at one time has left some kind of stray config somewhere that is messing me up.
Siri doesn't even let me speak, as soon as it prompts it immediately stops and says there is a problem.. at least she apologizes lol

You Can Install Siri on iPad 2 with Spire
This is how I pulled it off. Works reasonably well but noticably glitchy. Only works in the portrait orientation, doesn't support addons, asking about weather causes a respring and theres no dictation button on the keyboard. Oh, and cos this way of getting Siri involves plist editing, I am taking no responsibilities for any of you mugs screwing your iPad up. :P
Yes, the 4S owner needs to send out an email daily. It tells you the expiry time on both devices so it's all good. What I'd like to see in the future is a way of setting email addresses to automate the sending every 24 hours. Though that relies on when you last used Siri as it uses those most recent keys.Last edited by Retribution1337; 02-15-2012 at 06:48 PM.

I'd still love to get it running on my iPod 4 .. it's not working at ALL .. but I won't be upset if I don't .. it's a novelty to me since I have my 4s with me at all times anyway..
I just wish I knew what the problem was, I hate mysteries.. I just don't want to restore to try that avenue

You said you've already re-installed Spire, have you tried entering different information into the Proxy field? "http://" may just be causing Siri to get confused. I choose "127.0.0.1" as it's a universal network mirror to just bounce all data back to the device that sent it. It seemed the most logical thing to do seeing as the auth-tokens do all the work.

To get everything working you have to disable SpireInjector and SpireHooks in SBsettings. Try that and everything should work.

When I try http:// siri pops up but the button doesn't do anything at all .. when I try http://127.0.01 it gives me the errors as if Siri can't connect to the server.

I removed the dependency on "Spire" from the 1.0.0 deb and installed it on my iPad (which has Spire for iPad, uses a different bundle than com.chpwn.spire, therefore the conflict), but no icon appeared and therefore I couldn't load the AssistantConnect4S data. Any other suggestions?
