[Review] SiriToggles - Further Siri Functionality With Voice Toggles

And the Siri tweaks continue rolling in...
If you remember our review of VoiceUtils yesterday, then you already know that because of the jailbreak for the iPhone 4S that the Siri-based jailbreak tweaks are going to start rolling in. Any other iDevice users shouldn't feel left out either. These Siri tweaks appear to work just fine with the free Spire Siri port that was released by iOS developers and hackers Grant Paul and Ryan Petrich. Yes, it will require a Siri server if you use Spire.
Anyways, this new jailbreak tweak dubbed SiriToggles by iOS developer Hamza Sood will give you even more Siri functionality that we just know that all of you have been dying for. They are voice-based toggles that you can use to control the functions of your iDevice. Additionally, they could make a replacement for SBSettings. The complete list of features below:
- Find out your battery level
- Change screen brightness
- Launch applications
- Enable/disable Wi-Fi
- Enable/disable Bluetooth
- Enable/disable airplane mode
- Enable/disable cellular data
In order to toggle something such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, airplane mode, or cellular data you have to say either, "enable/disable" or, "turn on/turn off." If you want Siri to tell you about how much battery you have left, then the developer recommends that you say something like, "how much battery do I have left?" or, "what is my remaining battery percentage?" If you want Siri to change your display brightness, then you should say something like, "set/change back-light/brightness to 50%." You can say whatever percent you want, of course. If you want Siri to launch an application for you, then simply say, "launch insert application name here" which will of course launch the application that you specify.
SiriToggles does require iOS 5 and Siri capability. You will not have any settings to configure after installing SiriToggles, but the abilities of it are already versatile. It's not hard to use and Siri can already usually make sense of what you say, for the most part that is. I think that the functionality is definitely useful and it's something that many Modmyi readers have been looking forward to using on their jailbroken iPhone 4S. I have to recommend this, there's no putting it down.

Awesome! Love the tweak but it doesn't combine one thing from siriUtils; the ability to respring, reboot etc. just to clear that up. Just keep both great tweaks haha

Oops, lol I was thinking about voiceUtils not siriUtils, either way I've bot Siritoggles and voiceUtils installed and they seem to be giving the best of both tweaks tho I like Siritoggles execution of app launching better then voiceUtils. No problem with both working at once.

Works great! Saying "open" instead of "launch" also works. It seems like Siri is not checking with the server to do any of the commands so loading is pretty fast. Thanks for the tweak! I wouldn't be surprise if apple copies this and put it on the next update.

Awesome tweak, one problem, you can disable Airplane mode as you need 3G or Wifi connection, or is there a tweak which could enable Siri without having to be connected to 3G or Wifi,

Searched for this in Cydia, found it, tried to install it and I get this message - "I wasn't able to locate the com.hamzasood.siricorefunctions package. This might mean you need to manually fix this package."... I checked and I have the Big Boss repo so does anyone have any idea what I need to do here?
Thanks
EDIT: Never mind.. I hit the clear button on the install and restarted it and now it worked... FYI
RE-EDIT: This is amazing...Last edited by NOYB111; 01-23-2012 at 06:26 AM.

I'm of the understanding that this extension only opens apple apps, not third party apps.
This is my method for diagnosis
1.) Tell Siri "open angry birds" or "launch app angry birds" or "launch angry birds"...you get the picture (I chose this because it was one that many people have, and Siri recognized what I wanted to do). Obviously pick a 3rd party app you have installed, that's also easy to say (and preferably a word, not like Viber, which is nothing other than "five").
2.) If the command is NOT correct (the spelling is wrong or something), then manually correct the command bubble via text input.
3.) If Siri reply's with a command like "Sorry, I'm unable to do that", then the extension doesn't enable that function.
Thank you to Hamza Sood, for a great extension that works. Please Implement third party app opening if possible. This would be more of a general user type extension, where as VoiceUtils is more catered towards the Tinkerer :P
