SiriPrefs - Control Your iPhone Settings With Siri
You will soon be able to control your iPhone's settings through Siri.
If the Spire Siri port and iOS 5.0.1 untethered jailbreak weren't enough for you, then maybe this will come as a cool little surprise for you. While there is no untethered jailbreak for A5 devices yet - it's possible to run Siri on older devices. Israeli developer, Danny Lisiansky, has been working on a cool tweak that lets you navigate straight to iOS settings using a voice command through Siri. He has chosen to name it SiriPrefs. We are expecting the iOS 5.0.1 untethered jailbreak for A5 devices pretty soon and this should prove to be a useful tweak for A5 users too.
With SiriPrefs, you can navigate to different sections of the Settings application. From what it looks like - it uses Bing as a tool for navigating through settings (even though Siri picks it up as 'being') so saying, "Bing [insert settings panel name here]" will navigate to the settings pane that you choose to name. For example, saying, "Bing Wi-Fi" will take you right to the Wi-Fi settings of the Settings application without you needing to navigate through the Settings application. You can use Google or Yahoo as well as Bing but the developer used Bing only in the video. Not only can you open settings but you can open SpringBoard applications too. This could prove useful if you're doing something where you cannot use your hands to hold your iPhone and navigate through settings - on top of that, SiriPrefs could make a very powerful combination with Brock Haymond's Hands-Free Control tweak which lets you activate Siri simply by saying, "Siri" instead of holding down the home button. Below is a video demonstration of SiriPrefs:
SiriPrefs is still in developmental stages and it's perfect yet - there is not even an ETA on when it may be released, although it will likely see the light after the iPhone 4S sees its first jailbreak. This would allow Siri to be exploited to its finest depths. SiriPrefs appears to have a great potential in what it's designed to do and maybe other developers will follow suit in making Siri do other cool things. For now, my biggest beef about SiriPrefs is how it opens a couple of applications to actually get into settings. It's a necessary step because it uses the Safari Web browser to actually bring up the shortcut, but I just hate the appearance of it showing up after every command. SiriPrefs doesn't require the iPhone 4S to be jailbroken to run.
Hopefully, the Spire Siri port will become more useful when the untethered jailbreak for iOS 5.0.1 spreads to A5 devices and we will be able to use cool Siri tweaks like this one on older devices too. For now, the Spire Siri port is only useful if you're tech savvy and know how to properly input information to get it to run on your older device - oh and you'll need someone's iPhone 4S too. Soon, when the iPhone 4S is jailbreakable, we should be able to bypass that necessity of needing to use someone's iPhone 4S.
What do you think about SiriPrefs? Do you think it's a good idea? Share in the comments.

A little fix to the article:
1) It's working on 4S too, and it doesn't need jailbreak.
2) It's launching applications too.
3) You can use Google and Yahoo as well, I used Bing only for the video example.

The Siri port is great.. But it eats up loads of RAM on my iPod touch 4. I couldn't get any more than 70mb and
I don't use any tweaks/addons. Just putting it out there

So if it doesn't require my 4s to be jb'd, how do I get it? I find it annoying that they made the device with voice control and you cant use it to toggle settings. Typical apple BS. Of course if it's a slow as the "shortcut" trick to get to toggles it will be more annoying and useless to me anyways. We just finally got off edge up here so waiting for siri then a web page would make it useless.

What do they have against battery life that they make it so it has to use data to search things on the device in your hand? Put the software on the phone if that's the issue. Apple, the way they create things is like me asking the doctors to make sure my child is born beautiful but missing a limb.
