BGR: Rumored Physical Attributes of iPhone 5

On Tuesday, BGR posted the latest rumors and chatter coming from its sources with regard to the iPhone 5 - Apple's next generation iPhone scheduled for launch in 2012.
Despite earlier claims from the likes of prominent Wall Street watchers and analysts like Gene Munster, the iPhone 5 may not turn up in early summer, keeping with the new fall-time iPhone launch tradition apparently set this year.
BGR says the iPhone 5 won't reach consumers until the fall of 2012, a full year after the iPhone 4S dropped to record sales. But consistent with the predictions of Munster and others, new design elements will factor into the picture for Apple's next-gen smartphone.
The iPhone 5 will "join the glass iPhone face with a new aluminum back plate," the report reads. "It will also cover a redesigned antenna system that surrounds the device, allowing Apple to build the rear case out of aluminum without having to use a large plastic insert above the antennas as the company does on its iPad 2 Wi-Fi + 3G."
Although the BGR didn't speak to the last wave of iPhone 5 rumors, some maintain that a summer 2012 release is still possible for the smartphone refresh, which will likely deliver a bigger screen (albeit the same resolution of the current model) and a faster processor.

Stop already with the naming of the next gen iPhone as "iPhone 5"....If you look at the sequence of iPhone releases it would be the 6th generation so if anything it would be the iPhone 6.

and everyone disregards the idea for an "iPhone 4G". If Apple does spring for LTE on the devices(which would make sense with a Fall 2012 release) then it could be that. But the biggest thing is nobody will know till Apple actually says it. and once they do it'll feel like we've known it the whole time.
No more name comments please!

It's always fun to see nerds fight, especially when no one mentioned that the first iPhone was the iPhone2G

Not this again....It will be the iPhone 5!!!!!! If I had the money I would bet 10 million dollars. Throw all your "logic" out the window. Apple named their second phone the 3G because it used the wireless "3G" technology. It was a marketing tactic. The next iPhone will be iPhone 5 simply because of marketing, my meaning.....everyone is already talking about and building the hype about the iPhone 5, free advertising. Absolutely no way Apple would skip 5.

It's actually going to be called, "iPhone 4G" but will still be the 6th generation iphone because we know now that for sure that apple will implement 4G LTE into the new up coming iPhone model. It's a marketing tactic that they used with iPhone 3G as well, so it makes perfect sense.
