CovertChirp: So You Don't Get Caught Tweeting In the Middle of a Meeting
Sometimes Tweeting in the middle of meeting, lecture, of funeral can be misconstrued as inappropriate. CovertChirp provides a solution (probably still inappropriate for funerals).
CovertChirp is a stupid simple idea, that can be stupid effective in the right setting. CovertChirp utilizes a Twitter UI camouflaged as the native iOS Notes application. The interface even comes with a “boss” button that hides the users tweets instantly.
However, outside of the office CovertChirp isn’t a very useful Twitter application and lacks many features Twitterific, Tweetdeck, and even the official Twitter app have. But, all of this seems like whining when the real purpose of the app is to appear like you care about what your boss is saying, when in reality you’re hash-tagging your life away.
The app provides covert access to Twitter and hopefully the app’s developer Garret Heath extends this covert-ness to Safari, and other applications to increase our perceived workplace productivity. For $.99 you can’t really go wrong giving the application a try. Who knows it may score you a compliment or two from the boss man or woman. Or they could call you out later in the week or in the meeting and ask for the meticulous notes you didn’t take.
