Robbers and Thieves Seem to Prefer The iPhone

The Android platform and the iOS platform have always been a topic of heated discussion in most cases. Whatever your personal views may be, it is important to note that everyone is entitled to their own opinion, so agreeing to disagree is usually the best bet here. That being the case, it is always interesting to read statistics and information regarding the two.

According to NBC New York, two robbers in upper Manhattan are targeting Columbia University students and demanding that they hand over their iPhones. A typical scene one might think, but what the ironic thing here is what happened in one of the more specific situations. Upon discovering that one of the victims had an Android powered smartphone instead of an iPhone, the robbers declined to take it and demanded cash instead. Another victim had a BlackBerry which the robbers also refused to steal as well. "It's insulting they don't want my BlackBerry," said the victim, which is one of the strangest comments we think we've personally ever read.

This isn't the first time that something like this has happened. There were various reports when the first iPods came out of a rise in muggings and thefts. It seemed that if you wore the iconic white Apple headphones, you were practically wearing a sign that said "Please rob me." Recently, the NYPD even told the Daily News that at least 70% of the cell phones taken due to robberies and thefts were iPhones. This is probably the case because Apple products consistently retain a high resale value and furthermore, the high demand for the iPhone naturally makes it a tempting target for thieves.

It was very strange that the robbers would actually return devices like the Android and Blackberry, one would assume that it would still be worth money. That's all good for the gsm network based phones, but the CDMA network ones can get put on that lost or stolen list and can never get activated again. Come to think of it that's why they have all those bad esn iPhones on eBay. That's crazy they wouldn't take the droid devices u can still make some ok money but the blackberries lmao.

If you're in an area highly populated by blacks then obviously 95% will be blacks just as if you lived in a area highly populated by whites then 95% will be whites and i doubt you have a friend that is a detective your'e probably a 13 year old white kid in the hood dumass
