[Review] Hide Your Application Icon Shadows

No Icon Shadows will hide your icon shadows.
Are you an avid iOS themer? Then you might find this tweak useful. There are often times when you have a theme that just doesn't play nicely with iOS's icon shadows. If you are a themer who has problems with those pesky shadows, then maybe you should check out the free Cydia tweak No Icon Shadows which will hide the iOS shadows that appear behind the application icons. Some themes like Glasklart, may look better without icon shadows on certain wallpapers. Additionally, hiding the icon shadows will make the home screen easier for the GPU (graphics processing unit) easier to render. No Icon Shadows was created by Max Nedorezov and was recently released on Cydia.
Installing it is all that you need to do to benefit from its features; there are no settings to configure and to get your icon shadows back on your iDevice you will need to uninstall the tweak using Cydia. After you install it and respring your iDevice, you will notice the differences below:

Name: No Icon Shadows

I made a no shadow thing about a year ago when iOS 4 came out. It's still on cydia as no icon shadow fixer. I came up with it as the shadows annoyed me on older themes.

I can see how people would be begging for this.
On a more serious note:
Why did the developer feel the need to make this?
Why would anyone need this?
I personally don't think avid themes would concern themselves with such trivial details.
Picture this conversation:
Themer - "Hey bro, check out my iPhone! I got a new theme on it! Isn't it awesome?"
Friend - "I don't see it. Think I'm stupid? Huh?"
Themer - "No, no, I wasn't saying that! Look, it's right here, see...
See what I'm talking about?

I made a no shadow fixer over a year ago. It's still on cydia as No Icon Shadow Fixer and it even works for Retina display. I originally created it for 3.X themes to look better on iOS 4 and later. It removes the icon shadow and has an option to remove the gradient of the wallpaper shadow.

This tweak isn't specifically for making theme's look cleaner. It also speeds up the device. For older devices, the shadow effect Apple has implemented in iOS 4+, it takes some time to generate all of those shadows, and was also known to drain battery back in the early 4.0 firmware days; and not just old devices, it's also known to reduce lag on newer devices running iOS.
